Self storage review:

Don’t bother with this place. The units are not insulated and your stuff WILL MOLD 100%. It is right off the bay with crazy amounts of moisture and very little protection. They use old uhual truck compartments as storage units, the doors are so rusted they barely open. The price is ridiculous, just go to RAINBOW self storage, right on the same street. Also ants. We have no food in there.

I rented a trailer at the U-haul Eureka. I did the checkin online, the whole process to hook the trailer to my car took less than 15 mins. Staff was great and answered to all my questions. The trailer was well maintained. I do recommend this store.

This place has the most horrible service. They never have enough employees. Last time I was here I had reserved a 15 foot truck and when I showed up they didn't have any at all. I had to get a 10 ft truck and then return it to a different location. It was incredibly frustrating. It also took more than an hour to get the truck.
I just reserved another truck and showed up. There is a line of 5 people, no employees in sight. I've been here about 20 minutes now and they have helped one person. If you can get a truck anywhere else do it!!

I had an extremely bad experience with uhaul and wouldn’t recommend renting a truck from uhaul or doing any kind of business with uhaul. They don’t care about customers and even when they’re at fault they still hold the customer responsible.

I reserved a truck through the app to pick up and drop off here. When I arrived to pick up the key, they told me I couldn't return the truck to the same location -- I'm guessing because they're trying to get trucks off their lot, because their explanation made no sense.

So they effectively refused to rent the truck I had reserved and wasted an hour of my time. I wasn't going to drop the truck off at a different U-Haul and Uber back here too pick up my car just to accommodate them. The McKinleyville location had no problem renting me a truck and seemed confused by the behavior of this U-Haul.

I will never use this location again and will advise anyone else against it. The parking situation also sucks.

We reserved our 6x12 enclosed trailer for a cross-country move (for $3000 no less) the pick up was ok but we did not check the trailer before leaving. We then pull up to our house to load up and open the door to find it full of other peoples stuff. There was a king size mattress and a box spring still in the uhaul. We then called to tell uhaul of the issue and they said they would call their GM and call us back. We had to call back 2 hours later just to be told they weren’t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service, the General Manager “Dale” refused to talk to us because he was “off”. My understanding is that a GM is a salaried position and should always be available for issues like this. I was told to call the 1-800 number for help and now I’m on hold when I should be loading this trailer. So wish me luck and save yourself the hassle. Use a different uhaul location. Disrespectful and a disgrace to a trusted brand. Spend double and buy your own, that’s what I might have to end up doing.

My overall experience was a blessing and saved me when my movers I hired flaked on me. Excellent customer service! They were pleasant & happy people. I felt informed and well taken care of. They were open on easter. The only suggestion is to put plus gas and mileage on all advertising so the next customer is informed and comes with enough money. I highly recommend this location on Jacobs Ave in eureka California

The staff at this location have been exceptionally wonderful. We came in several times just to ask questions and they were always helpful and friendly, no matter who we dealt with. They have gone above and beyond to make our experience as quick and easy as possible. They even carried our moving boxes to our truck for us. Thank you to all of the staff at the Jacobs​ Avenue, Eureka U-haul. You have changed my view of U-haul.
