Being in the market for a new boat, I came across a listing via Facebook at Wedowee for the exact model and year that I was looking for (2024 Yamaha AR250). Because this is such a large purchase, and as with most things, research and due diligence are essential. It just so happened that this same boat was also available at two other dealers in the area. I submitted my inquiry online to all three. Dalton from Wedowee Marine responded first. He was cordial, kind, and seemed very responsive and knowledgeable. So much so, that I felt comfortable moving forward with negotiating.

When I’d assumed all negotiations were done, and prior to signing any paperwork, I asked Dalton about adding some aftermarket steering enhancements (lateral thrusters) to the boat prior to me taking possession. He said it would be no problem, but they would require $500 down in order to get the ball rolling. So I authorized Wedowee Marine to charge my card $500. Less than 2 hours later, the other dealership came back with an even lower out-the-door price. I sent the number to Dalton to see if Wedowee could match or beat it, but he informed me that they were already at their bottom dollar. Understandable. I thanked him for his time and effort, and opted for the better deal. No paperwork was signed with Wedowee.

Once I moved on, I sent Dalton a message to ensure the $500 that I was charged would be reversed/refunded…and I did not get a response. My calls were forwarded to voicemail, and attempts to reach a sales manager (Micah) were unsuccessful (via call or text).

I understand the competitive nature of the sales business. But ghosting a client after you lose a sale, and attempting to steal their money is unacceptable.

All of this to say…If you’re considering Wedowee for purchasing a boat, proceed with caution. They do not work or negotiate in good faith.

Always a great place to stop while on the lake, they keep a great selection of boats, golf carts, scooters, and parts. Dalton sold us our boat after I couldn't get off the fence for 1.5 years. He was great to work with, and you should definitely stop by Boondocks on the lake.

Dalton and Eric are amazing , great staff, great place to hangout, and when the guys on the tractors park our boat, they treat it like their own . I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new boat, service or storage !

Had annual service on outboard motor.
Good service. Looks like they can do major repairs They are very busy. Suggest setting up an appointment at least a week ahead.
Restaurant, basic boat toys, supplies, and fuel dock. Sell a variety of boats also.
Restaurant open for lunch
