Be careful when returning cars here! Picked one up at this location Thursday night, dropped it off Saturday afternoon - should be two day rental. Got reception emailed this morning and they didn't log it in until 7am this morning, charged me for an extra day. Get a receipt WHILE YOU ARE STANDING THERE, don't wait for them to email one.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION : This is a franchise location of Hertz. I was shocked to see an additional $95 charge which can be shown in the itemized receipt. Classified as “Fuel & Service”, this Hertz location thought they could get away with unethical business practices. I filled my car up with full gas at a Payless gas station less than 4 miles down the road.Reference time stamp of 15:31 at gas station and car return of 15:51 on other receipt. As you can see in the photo I paid $29.50 for 10 gallons of gas. I drove a total of 163 miles so if you do the math, I returned the car with a full tank. The car was returned in perfect condition.Would also love to know “Other ADDL charges”. Hertz customer service at first stated I had to go through the franchise location to get refunded but they won’t answer. After an hour on the phone i’m getting refunded. I’m a huge Hertz fan and always go through them for work trips but I will never rent from this location again.

In addition to being forced to take an electric car, there was a Hertz employee at Huntsville Airport who was unnecessarily rude to me. Not only unwilling to help customers (and clearly shows it) to the point the help he did provide was with a rude attitude.

Seeing that the Hertz Employee clearly did not want to help me (a customer), I stopped him from giving me his (half effort) service by telling him “sounds good” because he was snarky, rudely sarcastic, and clearly did not want to help me with my questions. With that, he rudely slammed the passenger side door of my rental and walked away. Will never use this rental service again.

Guess it’s true what they say…you really can’t find good help these days. The Hertz at HSV truly shows it.

One of the worse places at the airport! Be any means necessary avoid renting here. They are never prepared! They are unorganized, your reservation time doesn’t matter, the vehicle will not be ready and you will be inconvenienced every time. They offer no solutions! DONT NOT RENT FROM HERE! Every time I come here and I have to rent from here I run into an issue! I don’t know what made me think differently this time! Again DONT RENT FROM HERE. There are plenty of other options out there don’t waste your time and your money! Also their customer service is non existent, a robot would do more for you then they would!!!!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!

The booth under the carport never opened and there was no sign telling you to go inside the airport instead. When I did go into the airport the lady working the desk had no idea what the Jeep I was getting was even capable of. I asked for a Jeep with a removable top, when I asked if it was removed her answer was "I don't know, go look for yourself". I ended up taking my business to Avis.

Customer service for hertz in general is the worst out of any car rental company at the airport. I’ve called all the others as a test and I got support instantly. These guys have the phone disabled and the only way to contact is by leaving your info on their website and they get back in 3-5 business days…so they claim. They also claim in writing that your deposit will be returned within 24 hrs after rental closure. It’s been 7 and my deposit still hasn’t been returned and I cannot get in touch with anyone from this company unless I go in person. 100% will never use or recommend hertz to anyone ever again. Such a hassle for no benefit when all the other companies have actual customer service for the same price.

I had a bad experience with pick up from this location as they tried to force me to take coverage. After my refusal multiple times than asked me to provide documentation that my Canadian-credit card indeed provided coverage. So renter beware… have your proof of coverage ready to be provided if choosing this location.
