A new place to come for my family. From San Diego county parks this is one of the top, just because by the forest type. You are able to feel some privacy in each of the spots.

Wonderful place. Quiet and secluded. Beautiful black oaks with fall color during our stay. Friendly staff, clean restrooms and amazing, well maintained trails with gorgeous views!

Different level trails are available around the campsite. Campsite also has running water(for shower you need quarters) and drinking water available. My phone worked really well throughout the park. I was able to watch YouTube at my site. So many families with kids! Even has playground.

The rangers are super nice people.
Asked for a recommendation on a private site
He recommended #45. We have a Van RV and the site was perfect.

This was a decent campground and very occupied on the weekends.

Pros
- The bathrooms were relatively clean and well-stocked with toilet paper.
- The campsite was spacious and shaded with ample parking.
- The wood was easy to purchase and collect at the entrance gate.
- The surrounding trails were plentiful and easy to navigate.

Cons
- The staff were weirdly passive aggressive, and their tone was dismissive when communicating with them. I guess I’m talking about one young man in particular.
- The showers are disgusting and spider-infested. I understand it’s camping, but still. I doubt any woman showered in the three days I was there.
- Quiet hours were not even remotely observed.
- Driving roads were often hazardously blocked by children.
- Staff were selective about which rules they chose to enforce and others they ignored.

Julian is close by, about 10 minutes for groceries, ice, gas, etc.

We had a great time here despite the horse fly infestation and constant buzzing and bites. Once the winds picked up, the horse flies left us alone. Both the campgrounds and trails were maintained well, and the staff was both helpful and welcoming. At the ranger station, you can exchange your dollars for quarters, which was a blessing since we didn't have enough quarters for our showers. The shower water was lukewarm during the warm weather, so it wasn't a problem. Water spigots are conveniently located near each campsite, making it easy to find them. A filtered water station was also located near the entrance of a trail where drinking water bottles could be refilled. There are plenty of trees that provide shade. If you're new to camping, it's important to prepare for the scorching sun at specific times of day, and know where to put your camping belongings, as personal belongings will melt. There are campsites that don't have any shade at all. Our plan is to revisit during cooler weather to experience it in a different climate 😊

Wow wow wow!!! This is a great park. Super kid friendly with a playground and a big grass field. Close to Julian and plenty of hiking. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Me and my family had a wonderful time camping for 4 days. The views were stunning and the wildlife was fascinating. During our time there we caught several butterflies, rolly pollies, tadpoles, fish, and I even caught a toad (all were released) I'd like to be a nature photographer one day so taking pictures of all the plants, animals, and sky was delightful. The park Rangers minded their business most of the time besides just checking in on us once or twice a day when doing their rounds (which I liked but others may not) One complaint I had was that the cabins that were handicap accessible cost a considerable amount more than the cabins with stairs, my aunt has a broken foot so going up and down was extremely painful for her but we simply didn't have the extra money to pay for one of the handicap accessible cabins for her. If making something accessible for a disabled person can benefit everyone why wouldn't you make it as accessible as the others? Disabled people already have enough going on, they shouldn't have to pay more just to be accommodated.
