OBR contacted the mechanic and warrantied the shortblock. Only had to pay frieght. Thanks for making this right!

Pending.... Purchased shortblock through my dealer/mechanic due to reputation and warranty of OBR. Very experienced and reputable mechanic installed shortblock and ran break-in. At 5 hours the engine went south. All cylinders on one side were scarred. Warranty claim submitted. The frieght co picked it up after about 3 weeks. 2 weeks later dealer gets a call saying something must have been bad or trash from install as all crankshaft bearings are bad on one side causing issue and they would fix it for an additional $1400+. I could have bought new from Yamaha for the total of this purchase and additional repair cost. Considering pushing the issue further. Will update review when everything is finalized, but am not happy with the time, money, hassle, etc due to faulty bearings they are blaming on us. Have spent over 3 months off the water during tournament season.

I purchased a power head for a 04 hpdi 300, spent almost 6k between gaskets other parts needed to put together the engine. The engine now still runs great, but has a major oil leak coming from the front crank seal area. I had multiple local engine builders take a look at the engine and advised the cause of the leak is caused by the engine block and case half are from two different engines that were put together, they don’t match up with each other causing the front engine seal not to seat properly. Engine would have to be taken apart and built again and try to find another case half that fits there. The crank shaft has also had excessive wear were that seal rides at and needs a replacement crank shaft. This is very disappointing after all the time and money waisted to be in the same position I started at. This product is a very low quality rebuild, if your thinking of buying a power head from this company, be ready to throw away your money. Thanks again for the frustration I’ve been through caused by your lack of quality control in your building process.
