Agent was waiting at the dock, did "paper work" on tablet. Walked across the street to pick up the car. Returned it same spot....... could not be easier. Van was clean and excellent condition

Top notch service from Dallin at First City Car Rental!! We called around and he was the only one able to find us a minivan at late notice, AND his price was the best. He brought the car to us when we arrived and had great suggestions for things to do. He called the next day to make us aware that ferry passage was suspended because of the strike, since that was our planned transportation off the island. We wouldn’t have known otherwise, and this gave us the opportunity to make other travel arrangements. The best service we had in Ketchikan was from this company. Can’t recommend it enough.

We got to Ketchikan for a 3 week stay, and was going to taxi or Uber once we arrived. We found out there are no Uber drivers in Ketchikan, and decided to rent. We called a couple of rental agencies, and Dallin at First City Car rental gave us a great deal on a rental for the full 3 weeks. About a week in, we started getting an alert light about the stabilitrak, then it would go out. We texted Dallin & he checked with his mechanic & said it was probably dust or dirt on the sensor, and not to worry. After the 3rd time the light went on & off, we called Dallin and he immediately met us with a different vehicle.
Our experience with First City (and Dallin) was nothing short of wonderful. We highly recommend First City Car Rental in Ketchikan to anyone who finds themselves in need of a rental vehicle. Ask for Dallin!! ☺️

We stopped in Ketchikan July 16 th 2017. We decided to skip the shoe excursions the ship offered, they can be quite pricy for 4 people. So I decided to rent a car there and explore on our own. So glad we did and would highly recommend it to other cruise passengers. We were met right after we got off the ship at a pre planned time by the guy from First City ( think maybe it was Matt). We signed the rental agreement and got the keys in about 5 minutes. Fastest car rental experience ever! We just had to fill the gas tank when we were done and leave the car in the parking lot right by the pier and they came and picked it up. We drove around to a few places and came back to the ship for lunch then went back out to finish our own tour and dropped off the car. It was a older model Subaru Outback with lots of miles on it but it ran perfect and we were never to far away if we had trouble. So glad I found first city rental ! I highly recommend them and to go explore on your own.

I came in from a cruise ship and called last minute to get a car, and Matthew was awesome. He brought a car right to the parking lot, gave us the keys, and we were on our way. It was priced very reasonably ($82), and the car was a nice 06ish ford five hundred. I honestly believe that they deserve your business, and that you should definitely rent from them. Having a car, we saw a huge amount more of Ketchikan than if we were walking.

Dallin is the best in town with the most Friendly and affordable service you can hope for in a car rental company! He is always on time , and with a smile! Thank you for always meeting us to pick us up with a nice clean car. We look forward to our trips in town thanks to First City Car Rental!

If you are on a cruise and stopping in Ketchikan, you should rent a car for the day from First City Car Rental. You'll spend less than your ship mates and have a much better day. Matthew delivered the car to me and rode his scooter back to the office. I felt like I explored every inch of Ketchikan and it was only $14 to fill it up with gas. See my other reviews for places to eat, hikes to waterfalls and the beach and be sure to hit Herring Cove at low tide to see bears for free. Those across the creek will have spent $90 to see the same bears. Give Matthew his business and support his great solution to seeing Ketchikan. At the end of the day you lock the keys in the car and leave it and a predetermined spot. So easy!
