It’s becoming more and more difficult to find a reputable and honest boat shop that isn’t so backed up in their schedule and doesn’t turn away work because of the age of the boat. I am so impressed with Pacific Boat Services. Saw their ad on FB and decided to give them a try even though they’re 50 minutes from me. Kelvin and his crew wowed me from drop off to pickup. Very communicative and informative, quality work and pricing seemed very reasonable. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Phone call quote to Kelvin was around $5000. He quickly called me back and corrected himself and said it was around $3500. Then upon inspection found out, I didn't need a new lower just needed a type of adjustment and some other parts. You cannot pay for Honesty. Front desk was kind and inviting. My three boats will always be serviced here from now on! Thank you guys!! Now back to the water!!!

Staff is great. From the moment dropping the boat off, staff greeted and wrote all instructions down. Boat was serviced without delay, Bimini top and structure was over the top. New upholstery was amazing. It’s a nee boat.

• Our 35-foot sailboat was initially hauled to have the propeller inspected. We had hit a log and did not know if the propeller was affected. The propeller was removed and sent to Seattle for inspection. The inspection revealed only wear from 22 years of service. We expected to be relaunched within a week.
• With the boat out of the water, we could inspect the bottom. This inspection revealed extensive gel coat blistering (osmotic blisters). The blisters did not result in any degradation of the structural hull material; however, it was recognized that the blisters did reduce the value of the boat, particularly if it was be sold. Accordingly, we decided that an appropriate action would be to sand the bottom to remove the blisters and recoat the bottom with an epoxy-based resin which is blister resistant. We discussed this solution with Pacific Boat Services, and they agreed to extend our haul out period and perform the tasks. They provided a statement of work and a cost estimate. We accepted the offer.
During the repair, we had an opportunity to observe how management and employees performed their tasks.
• The willingness to modify the haulout period was simply accepted, even though the boat yard was quite busy.
• Our boat has a saildrive, not a standard propeller. The crew was very careful in placing the lifting straps to avoid disrupting the saildrive.
• The sanding and recoating of the bottom was competently accomplished. Pacific Boat Services has the right people, tools, and material to do the job.
• The boat yard area is cleaned regularly and thoroughly. The surfaces are appropriate for the intended purposes. The support stand base is stable and not subject to softening.
• Pacific Boat Services employs an integrated stand to support the boat, as opposed to the individual jack stands. The hull is fully supported both athwartship and longitudinally. The hull is not locally deformed or stressed.
• The availability of a specialized ladder to give access to the deck of our hauled boat. The deck is about 12 feet above the surface and the ladder makes the trip up and down relatively safe.
• In terms of the employees, there is a definite desire to complete the haul out in a timely manner. Also, each of them was willing to provide assistance when needed.
• A unique feature of the boat yard is that the supporting services (water, electricity, air, etc) are adjacent to the vessel being served. This means that the employee doesn’t have to find a long extension cord or air hose. This results in faster completion of the tasks. (As an aside, one of the electrical service lines matches that for a boat’s electrical cord. This allows the boat’s battery charger and refrigerator to continue to operate.)
Our experience with Pacific Boat Services was quite positive. We did discuss with the company what services we needed and what work we would perform. An example was the removal, inspection and reinstallation of the propeller.
What was most appreciated was the work they performed met all our expectations. Needless to say, we will use Pacific Boat Services again in the future.
We look forward to working with the Pacific Boat Services people again.

Great communication, great value, and a friendly team to work with. Our little Sea Ray 176 was in pretty good shape for its age, but needed some maintenance and cosmetic attention.

We had the bellows, gimbal bearing, and lower end outdrive service performed. Once completed they checked some other small concerns we had and gave us the confidence that we were in good shape. Kelvin was great with walking us through these services.

Ramon was patient with our pickiness. We had the original outdated decals removed, the hull polished, new pinstripes installed, and new CF numbers installed. As particular as we were, we left full trust in Ramon when he said "I'm going to do something a little special for you with the new CF numbers". We were not disappointed!

The final piece was the creation/installation of a bow cover, An item we have talked about since we purchased the boat two years ago. It looks great.

We are thrilled with the clean more modern look of our boat and are confident that it will run reliably. We already have plans to have Pacific Boat Services perform some more tasks for us next season.
