This is a seedy place under the surface. Very smooth talkers, and will do anything to get you in the door. But then will also do anything to NOT honor their word.

I bought a brand new bike 1 month ago. That bike is now not even starting. I’ve contacted Spirit, and Martin the president on multiple occasions pleading for help because this is my only form of transportation.

Do I get any help?

Of course not. Once they’ve squeezed you for what you are worth, then you don’t matter. On to the next sucker.

Also, please don’t be like me and take their word for the FINAL SALE price. Martin hid the final price from me in a spectacularly deceitful way, that resulted in me paying $5k over the budged he and I agreed to.

It’s funny though; he got $5k extra out of me, but won’t pay for my bike to get fixed. What is that, $100? Maybe?

Also, maybe “funny” isn’t the right word.

Good service but very disappointed with the labor charge. You advertise 199$/hour. I got a call within one hour that my motor cycle is ready for pickup after servicing and a new tire installation. But you charged me for a total of 3.5 hours of labor charge.Bill clearly mentions the time spend multiplied by 199.

Not a great experience

A special shoutout to all the excellent folks at Spirit working hard to get people on the bikes of their dreams. I purchased a bike from them recently and every face I came across was friendly and helpful, generous and knowledgeable. Greg was the best salesman I could ask for, never pushy and very enthusiastic about what he does. George, Daniel, and Wyatt all made the rest of the process fun and easy. I look forward to servicing my bike with them, and highly recommend stopping by and giving them your business.

5 star buying experience!
4 star service experience!
1 star management support.
I had a great buying experience with Jake Simpson. He greeted me a year ago when I came looking to try an Indian Challenger. A former Victory rider, I had tried BMW and Honda’s big tourers but was still looking. Jake arranged a test ride and let the bike do the talking. He had answers to my question and followed through without being overbearing. I went with the 2023 Indian Challenger Elite. It’s a rare buy,and Jake saw me through the 7 month waiting period, keeping me updated along the way. I know he had other offers but he held true to his word and in June Jake handed me the fob to a stunningly powerful and beautiful ride! Very pleased to work with Jake!
I had to return for some aftermarket parts to be installed. Supply chain issues resulted in some delays. Unfortunately the Parts and Service departments had a hard time communicating these issues and when I came by for what was to be a several hour service & install it turned into a 2 day fiasco that required another 2 trips to the shop to complete the process. I sat there all day and they failed to advise me of the delay and it cost me a day of work and a night in SJ (I had moved 2 hours away since the purchase). Jake, to his credit, advocated to make it right when he heard about this, even offering to help me find a place to stay for the night. Upper management was not supportive at all and unwilling to own any of the shortcomings on their side, content to leave me in the parking lot without a solution. In spite of no support from the owner or general manager, who went so far as to blame me for their failed communication, Mike in Service did what he could to make the issue right the next day Both Jake & Mike stepped up and I am appreciative of their efforts do good business. Also, Pablo the mechanic performed solid work and he and Mike kept me informed of the service performed, held onto my parts and took care of my bike.To date the work has been solid and I am happy with their efforts.
Props to Jake, Mike and Pablo for getting me and my bike through the epic screwups of others. A clear case of good employees making all the difference!

I purchased an Indian Scout Rogue 2023 from Spirit and, unfortunately, have had a consistently disappointing experience over the years. Here’s a breakdown of what went wrong:

THE PURCHASE:
Initially, the purchase process seemed smooth. Nate, the salesperson, was polite and attentive, though there was the typical negotiation routine ("This is the last bike we have"). However, about a year later, I visited another Indian dealership and discovered that I had overpaid by about $1,500 compared to similar deals elsewhere.

It was disheartening to realize this. My advice: Do your research carefully and visit multiple dealers before making a decision.

SERVICE:
I brought my bike in because I suspected the oil level was low. I explicitly asked the service team to check and only replace the oil if necessary. The mechanic later informed me, “The bike didn’t need the oil changed, but we changed it anyway, along with the filter”—without consulting me first.

That was frustrating, but things only got worse. On my first ride after the service, I heard something drop. Upon inspection, I found a loose cable hanging under the bike. It turned out the cable belonged to the horn, which was now missing.

After investigating, I realized that the oil filter is located next to the horn. It seems likely that the mechanic removed the horn to access the filter but failed to reinstall it properly. I brought this up with the dealership, and to their credit, they offered to replace the horn without any argument.

However, when I later took my bike to another authorized dealer for its 15k-mile service, they checked the VIN and noticed that Spirit had activated a warranty claim for the horn—as if it were a manufacturing defect rather than an issue caused by their service. This felt dishonest and unprofessional.

CONCLUSION:

I can’t, in good conscience, recommend Spirit for either purchasing or servicing your Indian motorcycle. If you're in the market for an Indian bike (which I’ll emphasize are fantastic motorcycles), I highly recommend visiting Indian dealers in Hollister or Elk Grove, where I’ve had much better experiences with genuinely helpful staff.

For service, consider Pro Cycles in Dublin—Susie and the team there are great to work with. Yes, these locations may be farther from the Bay Area, but trust me, the extra travel time is worth avoiding the frustration of dealing with Spirit.

Best purchase and after sale experience in my 46 years of riding and dealing with many many dealers. Spirit is the place if you like Indian, Victory or Slingshot IMHO. Since posting this review, I have purchased and traded multiple bikes with Spirit. Still treated an old guy well and five star dealer IMHO.

My experience at Spirit Motorcycles was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the showroom, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, making the entire purchasing process smooth and hassle-free. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly respectful, ensuring that every interaction was pleasant and enjoyable. What truly stood out to me was the cultural connection I found during my visit. One of the staff members resonated with me on the motorcycle culture in India, sharing anecdotes from his own experiences and even mentioning his visit to Hyderabad. It was a delightful surprise that added a personal touch to my experience, making me feel truly welcomed. A special thanks and shoutout go to Greg Contos, the sales consultant who went above and beyond to provide an excellent and personalized experience. His knowledge, patience, and genuine passion for motorcycles made the entire process a breeze. I also want to express my gratitude to Ramon Lopez at finance, who took the time to explain everything in detail, further enhancing my overall experience. Can’t wait to take the RS660 to the track soon! 🏁🇮🇹
PS: I purchased on 6th April, got the title and license plate on 26th April.

I recently fulfilled a two-year dream by purchasing a slightly used Indian FTR 1200 from the spirit motorcycles of San Jose, and I couldn't be happier. This bike has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I haven't had a single moment of regret.

My experience with the dealership was overall positive. Initially, there was some negotiation involved in trading in my old bike, but we were able to reach a fair agreement. The team even took the extra step of transferring my phone holder and other accessories to my new FTR, making the transition seamless.

One aspect that stood out was the dealership's welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It truly felt like I was among my motorcycle-loving brothers. Jake (with long hair in the photo) had a good chat with me and even offered me drinks, which was a nice touch and added to the overall positive vibe.

While I didn't require much in terms of service due to my prior knowledge of the bike I wanted, I appreciated their readiness to assist. I haven't needed any post-purchase interactions yet, but I have confidence that if and when I do, they will continue to provide the excellent service and attitude that made my buying experience so enjoyable.

I'm thrilled with my Indian FTR and equally pleased with the service and atmosphere at the spirit motorcycles. If you're in the market for an Indian motorcycle or looking for a dealership that treats you like family, this is the place to go.
