I made an appointment with Felix to view a used Dodge Challenger 2016 SXT Plus on their lot. On paper, the mileage looked good and, at first, the price seemed reasonable. On the call, I explicitly asked Felix about the damage on the trunk, and asked if there was any other damage I would need to know about before spending the time to come check it out. I was told that he wasn't sure since he hadn't seen it in a while.

The price was listed as $19,388 when I set the appointment. Within 24 hours of me setting the appointment, the car magically appreciated in value and went up to $19,998.

Once I got there, the first thing we noticed was a ticking noise the car made when Felix drove it up. The second thing we noticed was that every single panel on the car was damaged to the point where it would either need to be replaced, or painted. The front left fender was damaged so severely, we noticed it from 20 feet away. I was told by Felix and his service manager that they were "planning" on having their guy fix it by either painting, or most likely replacing the panel. The other side had similar damage where it looked like there were several impacts.

Scratches, chunks of paint chipped off and missing, scuff marks, both side mirrors were badly damaged like someone drove it up against a wall, cracked leather interior, chips and scuffs on 2 of the 4 rims, etc. I was genuinely surprised they even showed me this car, it looks like if they were to try and fix half of the cosmetic damage it would basically be a total loss. Easily $5000 of body work, paint, blending for the two front fenders alone.

The car was covered in what looked like at least 2 months worth of dust, but the manager we spoke with claims it has only been on the lot for 2 weeks since it's been "in the shop". The car had mystery stains on the back seat that were brown in color, and inside of the cup holders had something sticky on the bottom. It didn't look like they did even the bare minimum to make this vehicle presentable to the public. No wash, no detailing.

When I told them I was disappointed that they hid the damage from their website photos I was told that they tried taking photos but "its hard to pick up on camera". They were nice enough to let me view the vehicle, so as a courtesy I've uploaded photos from my phone which I think show the damage pretty clearly in case anyone else is thinking of coming to see this car. There were other options I could have pursued at other dealerships, and it's profoundly disappointing that we left the lot feeling like they were dishonest to get us in, then show us a car that looks like it was taken from a Pick N' Pull auction.

Felix was kind and professional, but I could tell he was embarrassed to show us the car the second he got out of the vehicle and pointed out the damage we had noticed from the sidewalk, and after doing an inspection I understood why. I really do wish he could have warned us BEFORE we made a commitment to come see it, considering I asked him explicitly if there was any other damage on the vehicle.

I don't think I'll return to this dealership, and if you're considering purchasing a used car from their lot, I would recommend you reconsider.

I took my car in for maintenance this morning. I’m fairly ignorant when it comes to cars so I realize this opens me up to possibly getting taken advantage of. This causes me to be hesitant at times to get repairs done. Today, I stopped in for the first time due to diagnose the emissions light being on. This was the first time since I started driving 30 years ago that I felt confident in my service! The service advisor Adam Ruff was excellent - he explained everything well, shared what was recommended to be done and the cost. He took the time to explain line by line what each item was, why it should be replaced and the importance of each item. He let me know what was more urgent and what could wait. I felt no pressure on getting anything done today. I got done the minimum for today, but as I budget for the other items, I do know I will be back! I intend on going back for any and all future repairs/maintenance and whenever i determine to purchase a new car, I’ll return there as well. Thank you Adam and Capital City for the outstanding service!

Capital City Honda is the best dealership in the area. I went to Elk Grove Honda first and had a horrible experience (they tried to charge me 3k over MSRP, plus the fees were insane). I contacted Cap City Honda and they gave me a fair deal on the new 2025 civic sport touring hybrid. They also offered more for my old car than Elk Grove did. Rebekah, Cameron, and Sierra were all super amazing. The experience was great until I got to the finance part, Armando was relentless with the extended warranty sales pitch - I had to tell him over and over again that I wasn’t interested. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and have been enjoying my car so far! Over 50 miles per gallon!
