I’m going camping in the summer to explore the sites when the snow disappears but it’s so pretty even with snow. Definitely recommend and I’ve been going for three years now and always a beautiful place. They have bathrooms but no toilet paper in the winter at least. And only off the road parking since the parking lot is covered in snow."

Campground reservations for the good sites are hard to come by, but we usually manage to find something, and come here every summer. A lot of the stuff was built by the WPA and they have these cool rock stoves in some of the older sites. Camping on the meadow is amazing and there is truly something for everyone here. Great for kids, great for adults, whatever. And the trees are indeed big. The North Grove sequoias are stunning.

Didn't stay at the campground but did take the North Grove walk. Wow! Great trail, just watch for the stones protruding above ground.

This place is outright stunning! My kids and I camped for the 1st time here. Bathrooms are clean and hot showers are available (bring quarters). The host and rangers are super friendly and helpful. There is a town nearby in case you need to buy things. I don't recommend eating at the restaurants (too expensive and mediocre). We went 2nd week of October and it was very cold at night. Also note campfire restrictions. Notice says restrictions until Dec 31st 2021.

Lovely campground, very well maintained. Several sites on "the RV loop" (1-10) have fantastic meadow views...perfect place to watch a thunderstorm on a Sunday afternoon. Good wifi in and around the amphitheater; zero or dodgy wireless everywhere else. Fantastic base for hikes around Big Trees. Rangers will swoop down on persistently loud campers muy rapido. Looking forward to going there again!

Restrooms and pay showers facilities (3) are clean and conveniently located throughout the campground. At least half of the campsites are set up on a slight hill which are not attractive for sleeping. Visitor center and Park entrance are within short walking distance.

Site #43:
Pros:
+Large lot
+Set back and somewhat isolated with only 1 adjoining neighbor
Cons:
-Set on a slight incline
-Aggressive bees and mosquitoes
-Back of campsite is exposed to open land where a park ranger stated a bear is most commonly sited to enter the campground
-No separate grill
-Dog barks next to hill are echoed like a megaphone
-Dust everywhere

A very well maintained and beautiful campground. We were in NG07 for 5 days first part of October. A wonderful spot with a view of the meadow. Great trails, one day we drove to Ebbetts Pass. So very beautiful if you have time.
One thing I couldn't find before arriving was the size of the bear box. We have a 60 qt. Coleman on wheels and it fit with a small amount of space to spare in height. We brought locks but you can tell from the picture they have a latch attached to the box. The box opens from both sides which was great.
We had a big problem with yellow jackets in October. Cooking and eating was a challenge.
You can get wood and anything that you might have forgotten at the hardware in Arnold. Wood is $5.99 and not much smoke.
