Top notch crew! I showed up 30 minutes before close on a Friday and they squeezed me and fixed my trailer lights in less than 10 minutes.

Love these guys. Bought a boat from them three years ago and they've taken fantastic care of us ever since. Good people, very fair and friendly. They build long-term relationships with their clients, not just out to get a deal. Highly recommend.

Well... boat number 2 and again Scott's did a fantastic and quick turn around on getting us back onto the water. Super impressive how the owner takes the time to inform about what needs done and makes it happen. I stood around and watched other customers while paying my bill and picking up the boat.. they all seem to feel the way I do.. family type environment and friendly staff and comfortable with the trust factor and service. I'll always be a customer for sure.
I'll leave me first post below so people can see how i felt the first time around.

Sometimes a boat can be very problematic. If your looking for a mechanic that actually cares and will stick it out.. I highly recommend this shop. I deal with customers daily. The owner informed me along the way what was going on and explained things clearly. We are for sure bringing our boat here for all our needs.. I'm not an easy customer to please by the way... thank guys... 5 stars.. earned truly....
And for our 3rd boat. A 27 gamefish. They got everything 100% and like always the owner is a great rep for the industry. 100% got our business... if you need service... bring your boat here... period!

I recently purchased a boat and took it here for a basic inspection and service. I ended up paying $2,860 and had a HORRIBLE experience.

As far as the service-

They claim their "diagnostic fee" is $140. Not true, it ended up being $280.. After the inspection I was quoted at $2,373 to fix everything, (lower unit flush, carb adjustment, compression test, small weld, new trolling motor plug, new breaker, thermostat and fuel filters, ect..) I gave them the green light.. I was quoted 2 hours ($280) for a jack plate to be "refitted" it ended up being 3.5 hours ($490). The jack plate was literally 2mm off the transom at the top. It worked for more than 20 years, prior to this modification. It was an easy way to make money and totally unnecessary. In final, it ended up being $2,860 in total ($500 more than their quote). I could write a novel on how a simple job somehow ended up taking 8 weeks to complete but I'll leave it at that.

Also be very careful about the S/O labor and fees. This is a hidden cost not disclosed with parts and/or labor on the invoice. They ALSO charge a 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. I had to pay in cash. Pretty crazy!

As far as the co-owner-

Lucio Orfanello... This guy (both in person and over the phone) will talk over you, and talk down to you within the same sentence. He will give you ridiculous and unsolicited advice as far as your hitch height and transom saver, which he ended up saying "ohh yeah you're right" to both. He tried this play book when I picked the boat up, and after pointing out his rude behavior, he blamed it on his ear infection, the bandage on his head, how he wasn't feeling good, ETC. This guy has no place in a job dealing with people in sales or service.

The kicker to this all is that he expected me to pay before I even saw the boat. I insisted that I see it first. Thank goodness I did because the drain plug was missing from the back (the stern). If I didn't inspect it, I would have sunk the boat just after putting it in the water.

I literally handed over $2,860 in cash to be talked down to and ripped off. This is truly disgusting business practices. I really hope the boat is "fixed" when I put it in the water. Scott's you truly earned this 1 star review.

The crew at Scott’s Marine is top notch. They didn’t overcharge and I paid a more than fair price. I was impressed by how quick they were able to diagnose and fix my boat accurately! I will be going back to get service there again! Thank you so much!

Thorough!!!! I brought my 20+ year old Yamaha in with an unknown issue. They took the time to properly diagnose and explain to me all that needed to be fixed to make it sea worthy. They didn’t just fix what was apparent, they looked to see what else COULD go wrong and shared that with me. Nothing will ruin your boat day like a broke down boat after you just “repaired” it. They completed the repairs and a couple of days later I took the cowling off to check oil and noticed how clean the engine looked. Not only did they repair with expertise they cleaned the engine so it looked as good as it ran. I’m not 3 months down the road with a 20+ year old motor that runs like a champ. Their thorough review of your boat is not an attempt to “sell” you more, they just want to make sure you continue to love boating as much as they do.
