Matt and the crew are great guys and took care of my family's suburban transfer case. Had a single issue, absolutely minor and they stood behind their work and got on it immediately. That said more to me about the shop than anything. Very friendly and will absolutely be using them again. Highly recommend for anything driveline related. They're the best in the area. My 96 Explorer 4wd had a severe vibration and another local shop told me I needed a replacement transfer case. Brought it to Matt who said it felt like drive shaft problem. They installed a new drive shaft assembly and an output shaft seal on the transfer case and problem was 100% solved at a fraction of the price quoted by the other shop. I am a very happy customer.

Had gears and differentials installed here. Price was very reasonable and the quality of work was fantastic. Most recently, I put Truetrac limited slips front and rear into my F350 along with a ratio change. Gears looked fantastic with a perfect pattern and after a 500 mile break in the fluid was still clean. Made a world of difference for towing and getting a boat off a slippery ramp. One of the few automotive shops around that I trust.

Second time they've done work for us. They upgraded my differential gear set on my IROC Camaro, and replaced a leaking pinion seal on my truck. Trustworthy, fair-priced, and knowledgeable.

Matt is a great guy and will make sure the job gets done right. The price is very reasonable and he has very good turn around. I dropped off two axles to get regeared with new bearings and seals and picked them up the next day. Great service and great guy to talk to. 100% recommend!

Best hear shop around and pricing matched with the quality of Work that Matt produces. Two + years and the gears work great and no problems towing or empty on a 2016 Chevy Silverado Z71 w/4.10 gears on 35's and a 6" RC lift.

After a few months of having a noisy differential, I called a recommended auto repair shop about the problem. Straightaway, the shop directed me to American Gear.

Matt, owner of American Gear, drove my truck and assessed the problem as worn bearings, the gears sounded ok. I asked when I could bring it in for repair ... 'How about tomorrow?'

After leaving my truck overnight, the repair was completed. The cost was at the low end of what he thought it might be, the truck is back to being the quiet ride (!!) I enjoy.

The bottom line? American Gear is an HONORABLE and EXCELLENT repair resource! I'll add another star to the five I've given them!

I took my truck in to have the transmission rebuilt. Matt quoted me a very reasonable price, and the work was done promptly. I've been driving the truck for a few months now, and absolutely no leaks or problems from the transmission. I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing major drivetrain repairs.
