Ashland Automotive, Inc charged me almost $90 to diagnose my car. They were going to charge $750 for replacing my serpentine belt and tensioner, when all other shops in the area quoted $350-375. They also did a “free” inspection, as a way to try to sell extras. They told me my brake fluid needed to be flushed and replaced when I had that done less than a month ago. They also said my transmission needed to be drained and the fluid replaced. I’ve had other people look at both, and they said that these people were just trying to take me for a ride. I wouldn’t suggest this place to my worst enemy.

We have done business with these guys in the past and they were honest and did great work. Friday the 7th, Ashland was thick was snow and ice and my VW Jetta couldn't quite get out even with chains on. The chain snapped and severed the brake lines! We were very happy that they were open as most other shops were closed that day! We managed to get the car there and it was ready first thing Tuesday morning. (Weather delayed a part). We have 0 complaints! Thanks for the superb work!

Let me start by saying that everyone that I interacted with were very friendly. My car had stopped running right down the block and a tech came down to check it out. The next morning they pushed it into a bay and after doing a test for $80 determined the problem was a camshaft position sensor. Just under $2000. I declined to have the work done and instead had it towed to the Mazda dealership. It was not the camshaft position sensor. The timing was off. No part necessary. $421 Later and it is running perfectly. I feel like any mechanic worth thier salt should have know this. Just keep this in mind.

Awesome repair and service! My truck overheated on the mountain while hauling a horse. Dylan and Wyatt went over and above. Dylan helped me find a ranch to keep my horse until my truck was repaired. They did great work on my truck and made my repair a priority so I could get back on the road. I highly recommend Ashland Automotive!

Such a great team. We made an appointment, but failed to share our time limitations due to other appointments. When we arrived to drop the car off it became clear that there was a problem - well not a problem for long. The team worked together to get us in and out and still meet our other obligations. We learned our lesson and will be more careful when we schedule next time, but we really appreciate the team's help on this one! THANKS

Had my Subaru forester in and out of this shop from January to June. They charged me thousands of dollars in repairs, but the car had continual issues. Took my car into somewhere new just to find out my control arms were installed incorrectly and n-links were not bolted. This mistake could have costed me my life. Do NOT go here if you value your money, time, and vehicle.

Update.....22 June, 2021
Since my original post I have had several problems with their work. Today's diagnostic conclusion and how they choose to deal with it will determine if I stay a loyal longtime customer.
I hope they stand behind their work!

Update 24 June 2021
I'm sad to say I won't be going to Ashland Automotive anymore. The diagnostic conclusion they gave me was that my truck needed a new Intake Air Control valve. The part is less than $100 and takes 1.75 hours to replace. They quoted me $1,085!
I picked up my truck, went home, opened the hood and debated replacing the valve myself. As I evaluated the job, I noticed a vacuum hose on top of the air intake that had a large obvious crack in it. I wrapped tape around it and installed a hose clamp on in it to stop the leak. When I started the truck, the check engine light was off and since then (24 hours and 50 miles) it runs perfectly.
I can't say for sure that Ashland Automotive cracked this vacuum line when they charged me $700 to replace a valve cover gasket, or $1200 to replace an air sensor, but they would have had to disconnect and reconnect it both times.......Bottom line, I feel they are way overpriced and sloppy, despite their clean, organized, caring facade.
They would have charged me $1,100 for a $400 job and that wouldn't have fixed the problem. Any experienced mechanic should have spotted that cracked vacuum line. Wish I could give them a good rating but honestly I can't!
