Deceptive test drive.
READ BEFORE BUYING A CLOSEOUT SPECIAL AT AUTOCARS LTD.!! According to the Google reviews here you have about a 21.8% or 1 in 5 chance of being extremely unsatisfied with this dealer. Sort the reviews from lowest to highest and read all 29 one-star reviews of 133 reviews. You will see the pattern of dishonesty, fraud and complete lack of care for the customers who bought a lemon from Autocars Ltd. over the past 6-7 years. I can count myself as one of many customers who experienced the pain that came from trusting Andy Leaño.
Shame on me for not doing due diligence and for trusting Andy. Upon first checking out the 2009 Mini I bought I asked Andy if I may drive the car on our test drive on HWY 10 because you should really check out how a car performs at highway speeds. He mysteriously ignored my request and proceeded to direct my test drive from the passenger seat taking me only around the residential block behind his business with a speed limit of about 25-35 mph. I attempted to give the car some rpm's on this drive but it wasn't possible to really test the car out at this low speed. The test drive lasted for about 2 minutes. In hindsight, I should have taken this as a bad sign as my gut told me and walked away. Unfortunately, I really wanted this car to be as mechanically good as it was in appearance and against my instincts, trusted that Andy was honestly representing the car as ready to drive long distances. I purchased the car in cash on Thursday 1/16/2025 and the check engine light came on while driving it on 1/17/2025. I had the codes read and it showed a code for the Turbo boost pressure as well as the stability/traction control. If cleared, the code returns once the car is taken above about 4,000 rpm like when accelerating on the freeway on-ramp which Andy appeared not to want to let me do on our test drive. I also noticed that the cover for the OBD2 diagnostic port was removed when I checked for the codes myself. With the turbo malfunctioning the car only gets 22mpg while it is rated for 27 City/36 Hwy/29 Avg. about 25% less than what it should on average. I bought this car to improve my fuel cost from the 17mpg my current car is getting. Within 5 days of ownership I had the 3 diagnostic trouble codes covering 2 expensive and major systems: turbo and traction control, 4 burnt-out bulbs for (side markers, license plate and reverse lights), all 4 brake pads need replacement (rear pad began grinding metal-to-metal on day 5 of ownership), one stuck brake caliper (discovered when I replaced the rear brake pads and had no wear at all on the right side while the left side was completely down to metal backing), missing turbo intake ducts, security/alarm light on the dash not operable, peeling paint on the roof, low one quart of oil, all 4 wiper blades (front and rear) damaged and in need of replacement, the rear brake pads were improperly installed and the wear sensors were not in-place. After calling Andy on the morning of 1/18/2024 to make him aware of the check engine light his response was basically -good luck with the repair shop and cars develop problems when they sit for a while so maybe just drive it hard and the problem will go away. I had to replace the worn brake pad on 1/22/2025 before I could drive the car back to Autocars Ltd. I was honest, humble and flexible when asking Andy for help. I offered to swap the Mini for a Prius he had on the lot or to return the Mini to him for a refund. Andy proudly said "no" and refused to help. The repair estimate here excludes the rear brakes because I paid $70 for pads and installed them and a new trouble code for O2 sensor replacement appeared 1/24/2025.
AS-IS AT THIS DEALER MEANS TROUBLE!! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SHOP ELSEWHERE OR AT LEAST INSIST ON A PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION AND A LEGITIMATE TEST DRIVE BEFORE YOU CONSIDER BUYING FROM THIS DEALER! RE Dealer reply: of course I have buyers remorse, who wouldn't after buying a severely broken car with a $3,000 repair tab.

Andy is great, everyone is honestly. Great value they have Carfax and are very reasonable. They worked with me with my down payment, no pressure sales, he is very patient and friendly. I will buy another car here when the time comes!
There are 2 reviews on here I assure you are not accurate statement's and there must have been a misunderstanding. As far as unprofessional paperwork goes I can take a picture of my paper work and post it if proof is wanted to back my statement.
Other review about cash price costing more than financing must be a misunderstanding because all cars have a clear cash price on the mirrors. Bad Reviews can really harm a business. This man is honest, straightforward, & he will try his best to work with you. He doesn't deserve bad Reviews I promise you this.

Both Manuel and Andy were very helpful and insightful in the process of buying a car. They were upfront and fair about the details and information surround the vehicle, provided a fair price, and excellent customer service. If looking for a place to buy a used car, look no further

The condition of the car is very good. I took a look at some of the cars. I could say the cars from Autocars are way more clean, neat, and as new among the neighbors. Andy and their team took good care of my car's gas leaking problem as soon as possible. They ordered the part from the original dealer and replaced it for me. If I have to, I'll say hope they can fill up the gas at least once before selling it to the customers to avoid my problem from happening again, and...I hated the process of going in the office to ask for lowering the price back and forth back and forth. It's wasting my time. Overall, I've had my car driving for 3 months; I love my car purchased from them! Thank you!

Andy was very easy to work with. He made sure we got a copy if the Car Fax, which eased our minds a bit. Even though we kept him later than 8:00pm, he was very helpful. Thanks
I'm editing my first review: The process to purchase the car was easily done. But, remember that when you purchase the car as-is, the car is as-is. We had a problem with our car three weeks after we drove it home. I called Autocars to ask if they could fix it, and they would not. They reminded me that it was purchased as-is. It cost me $250 to get it fixed. If you are interested in a car there, and if you have a mechanic who can take a look at it before you purchase, definitely do so. Good luck

Bought an "as is" car more than a week ago & it was a good experience meeting such "nice" people. Gave a positive review but edited today due issues with the car. In short, the vehicle description ads is not true as it is and subject to their interpretation as it suits them.
Guess what, the old review which I added an unpleasant update was deleted today. My update is not a cyber attack and no written abusive language. Just a genuine freedom of expression from my true experience so the community will be aware.
So the reviews could be selectively controlled on this page.
My good experience sourly turned to bad after more than a week. I thought I would buy again from them for the other three family members, but not anymore.
I will not recommend buying car from this place. They could be nice in front of you but not after your purchased the car. They won't take care of you when they sold you a dodgy car.
It makes me even feel worst and cheated that when I found out Andy came from the country I came from overseas.
Lesson learned: DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

I was looking for cars capable of off-roading. I've scouted out many dealerships with different cars offering said capabilities, from 4Runners to Sequoia. Then i received an ad from Car Guru about the Honda Pilot. It turns out it's local and very close to where i lived. Extremely friendly staff, me and my dad met with Andy. He's helped out give tips and inquiries the past 3 times we've visited. After exhausting all other options, and tight budgets, i ended up with the Honda Pilot 2003. A lovely car, test derived and came in fantastic condition, the engine was flawlessly clean. My dad noted that a tire balancing and belt replacement was in order, but looking at it's history, everything else was in top notch order! I recommend for any locals that live near this dealership, or others looking far and wide looking for a car that's available here to take the time and give a call!
