Came to play 18 with some friends, drove 2 1/2 hrs from Visalia and it was the best decision we made. I really enjoyed the canyons that surrounded us and then hole 10 had the view of the beach.
We will definitely come back.

We noticed a significant change in the Avila Beach Golf Course, once known as one of the most beautiful and unique courses on the Central Coast. The first 9 holes were muddy, and the fairways were overrun with weeds and high grass, leading to our cart getting stuck in the mud multiple times. The back 9 was dry and had somewhat better fairways. On the 18th hole, we had a gallery of people watching us tee off, which was an interesting experience amidst the challenges of the day.

DO NOT HAVE AN EVENT HERE!

We had my dad’s Celebration of Life at the Avila Beach Club and the event space along with the whole experience was terrible.

When we got there to set up the whole place was unclean. The floors weren’t swept, chairs had stains on them, dead bugs in the window sill, and the linens were stained, dirty, and just thrown across the table still wrinkled. We went into the bathrooms and saw a tampon on the floor, no toilet paper, and poop in the toilet. We had to track down the day of coordinator who was giving another tour and tell her specifically what needed to be done and even after that we did the majority of cleaning ourselves.

The bar also was never set up other than 4 bottles of red wine. Usually all available drinks are set out so guest are aware, but I had many people asking me if we provided beer, soda, and water. It seemed that no effort was put forth to help make this day go smooth.

I tried bringing this to Katie’s attention, the Event Director, but she would not get on a phone call with me and blamed it on the event that happened the night before. She took no responsibility and provided horrible customer service.

I am deeply saddened that such a special day was ruined by this event space and team.

Fairways were in poor shape. Sand traps are being redone. Cart paths were unusable. Got a discount coupon but have l played a lot better courses for the $. I suggest going to Black Lakes, Hunter Ranch or Monarch Dunes if golfing in this area. Much better condition for the money.

Cow Pasture Golf!
It may be a redort; but they need to remove golf from the title. The course is in horrible condition and appears to have lacked maintenance for years. Cracked cart paths, bridges damaged beyond use, fairways with huge holes that could actually cause injuries, forget about landscape maintenance. If you love golf go anywhere else. Try Cypress Ridge.

I play this courae everytime I'm.in the area. Can't beat the price and the views. Does needs some TLC but you'll still have fun.

The "Golf Resort" is pathetic. Some extremely rich dude needs to buy it & refurbish it!! Come ON, Rich Dudes!! This place is OOOZING Potential!! You can't beat the location! Please tell every Rich Dude you might know to spread the word that this place would be an IDEAL Acquisition!! It just needs some LOVE & Repairs... It WILL be Great Again!!

I thought I was getting a good deal to golf this course through Golf Moose... The layout of the course seems great but the upkeep of this place is bad. The range is not maintained, range balls are trash. Range targets and matts needs to be replaced. You can tell no money is put back into this place. The fairway is hit and miss. If you're in it you can be hitting off tall weeds and patches of dirt. This is not acceptable. Will not be coming back. I hope this helps anyone deciding to golf this wreck.
