5-star kayak paddle! Owners helped us get off to a fast start. Friendly people and uncomplicated check in process. The suggested route was beautiful. We saw seals, sea lions, otters, huge schools of shiny small fish. Wonderful experience.

Such a great experience, all staff were very friendly and made me feel safe. On the day we had originally planned to kayak, the staff recommended not to go out on the waters due to strong winds, and of course we listened because they know best! Luckily, we were able to go the next day and the weather was perfect, the water calm. We saw otters!

We followed the route to the lighthouse and explored the beach there. We followed a trail up to the top and saw breathtaking views of the bay. Highly recommend!!!

Most amazing experience! Beyond words—We headed out early and got to enjoy the quiet peace of the morning. From seals, to sea lions, to a whole raft of otters and a wide variety of sea birds the amount of beautiful (and adorable) sea life we saw during our kayaking journey was astounding. The staff was also very kind and graciously showed us the basics of how to hold our paddles and also gave us a brief overview of the recommended route. Overall, 100/10 experience, we are hoping to go again one day soon!

Avila Beach Paddlesport-recently made our kayaking experience unforgettable and we can't recommend them enough! The owners were incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating history about the area, setting the stage for our adventure.
Paddling out of Avila Beach was pretty amazing. As promised in previous posts, we encountered sea lions, seals, and playful otters, which added an extra layer of excitement to our journey. One highlight was navigating past Smith Island and reaching a secluded beach. We climbed the stairs to Point San Luis Lighthouse, where the views were absolutely breathtaking. Avila Beach Paddlesports was absolutely the right decision for this adventure. Their passion for the local environment and commitment to customer experience made this outing truly special. Definitely give them a call for your next kayak adventure in the Pismo/Avila area.

This was a lot of fun and affordable. A tandem Kayak at the time I went was $50 for 2 hours and $65 for 4 hours. We were able to see Otters and Sea Lions. I recommend going earlier if there is supposed to be wind the day you go. Bring a water case for your phone and water shoes of flip flops. Bring a waterproof small bag for any essentials such as sunscreen and bottled water. A pashmina or a hat is recommended. Even beginners can Kayak it's a lot of fun!!!!

I had an incredible experience at Avila Beach Paddle Sports! The location is absolutely breathtaking, with calm waters perfect for a relaxing paddle and stunning scenery all around. I was lucky enough to see some amazing wildlife—everything from birds to mesmerizing jellyfish and adorable otters, which really added to the magic of the day.

The staff was fantastic, especially Kaden, who I happened to share names with was friendly and helpful from the start. If you're looking for a peaceful and scenic kayaking adventure, this is the place to go! Highly recommend.

Alicia was fantastic. She held onto our stuff while we paddled in a tandem kayak. The guy who took us out was also extremely helpful. We talked about how he moved out here, from the area where I live. His insight on how to navigate the waters was appreciated and we’ll definitely be back 👍
