Doesn't seem like they know their own prices. The rental was 120 a day i rented it for 3 days bringing the total to 360....however once i returned the car they charged me 360 for 3 days and no one caught it but me. I was a little annoyed that no one even thought twice about that high daily price for a small size sedan. They even went as far as actually confirming that it was accurate because they have it typed in their new paperwork. I literally had to show them their own contract i signed with their own prices including my original receipt. before they realized that they screwed up on the new paperwork they typed up less than 5mins ago. 🤦🏽‍♂️. My only other complaint is the deposit process in which im sure i didn't get it back.

Made a reservation for a box truck three months prior to the date I actually needed it. Two days before I get a call and they’ve cancelled my reservation due to “not having enough inventory” or whatever excuse they made up. I asked them if there was any help I could get from them on what to do at this point, and was basically told I was SOL. Now I’m scrambling and will have to pay much more to get a truck elsewhere last minute. Stay away!

I work in the TV industry and have been to Avon countless times. I've rented from them for personal use also before. This time was like the rest, very easy rental transaction and pickup. I only had the truck as a 4 hour rental. I returned it before my allotted time was up and w way more gas than I needed to have, but that's besides the point and it's not a big deal. What happened though is that they initially overcharged me almost twice as much (and tacked on 300+ miles). I called numerous times to get this fixed, had to wait over the weekend since accounting isn't in over the weekend, wait an extra week, got recharged and refunded another time of different and wrong prices. Shari, in accounting really delivered and helped through this process, so she's awesome. I still like Avon, but really got put through the ringer on this and had I been so nonchalant in rental and paying my bill, I wouldn't have noticed. My advice if anyone from Avon reads this: I understand that it takes time to assess the vehicle and do the necessary vehicle checks on it, but if you can note mileage used and initial prices immediately on site (during drop off), that would be monumental for customers. I'm sure a lot of info gets passed along from the P/U and D/O lot (on orange) and the HQ (on la brea) that gets lost and customers get overcharged. Just my 2 cents.

I’ve rented from Avon a few times and they have always been helpful, reasonable & reliable. They have trucks when many don’t.

I’m a small personal production service & it’s never been a problem to rent anything I need,
Unlike some other places that only rent to big studios etc.

Their Hollywood location is slightly hard to access, but they shuttle you to the lot where you pick up your rental. Price wise they are best now that you can’t get cargo vans through hertz or enterprise (thanks amazon) also good amount of miles included in overall rental if mileage is a issue. I’ve had to deal with claims dept because of a small damage to a van, they didn’t take advantage of the situation, it was cheaper then I expected, actually.

They’re not perfect but that’s life. Avon is better then most & im happy to do business with them.

PS this is not a family, employee, friend review as someone stated below. This is real life nobody but a customer review!

Everyone staffed at the Hollywood Location was extremely helpful during the entire renting process. From getting a quote, to finalizing our order, pickup, parking and drop off - everything went super smoothly. Easy and fast to answer any questions that came up over the phone. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a hassle free experience for a fair price.

I have been renting from Avon for over two years now and can't think of anyone else I would rather trust with my production vehicle needs. They are often busy and run out of vehicles quick, but they have been very helpful in securing vans for me when needed and I have always had a wonderful experience with their customer service. I do recommend calling after you reserve online to make sure the vehicles are on hand, but you will not be let down.

This company has so much potential, but a lot of room for improvement too. First of all, within the Hollywood area, it pretty much as the best reviews and best value for money!

But I think the experience can be improved though, as this was my experience:

1) I booked a car online. But when I went to the location to pick up the car, the staff member still had to check if a car was available. This says to me Avon's link between physical availability of a car and the website needs to improve.
2) Staff member was friendly enough, but it still took him 15 minutes to process the paperwork until I was ready to drive the car. Just get a good consultant in to see how this and the above can be improved.
3) This is abit of a wish list for Avon, but it'd be great if you had an airport drop off/pick up location in future. Ha, would have saved me an Uber fare! 🙂
