Researched all marinas from San Fran to South Bay. Chose Bair island Marina and it did not disappoint. Pictures on their website are accurate. Quiet, safe and run by very nice staff. Well maintained. Includes all the usuals of a good marina, clean private showers, dock carts, Pump out machine, 30amp shore power and water hoses for each slip and the concrete docks makes things very easy and nice. They do not have fuel but the port of Redwood is 5 minutes away with many fueling docks. Extras include fitness room, pool and hot tub... By the way which are very clean . Very quiet place, at least during the weekdays, have not been here over a weekend yet. The Marina is surrounded on 3 sides by very nice Apartment homes and protects from wind. 20 knots in the bay on my way in and inside the marina dead calm. For sailboats, it is recommended to come in the marina entrance at mid to High Tide.

Best marina anywhere south of San Francisco. Extra clean, courteous staff, great access to downtown and protected slips due to surrounding apartments.

A very nice, clean & well kept marina. We were there for a anniversary party on a small patio, very personable. Family have been living other. Oat there for many years and have been very happy with the community of people there. Everyone looks out for each other & it's a quite, safe & enjoyable place to live.

I am excited to start a new adventure in my life! So I purchased a boat!! I was very impressed with Bair Island! Clean, well kept...sort of like being at the marina in Marbella, Spain!!

Yes, they don't have a social club, and they probably don't have any scheduled social events...But that's okay! They have a great work out room, pool, and clean shower facilities!! and totally secured!!

It's a beautiful place! and I am proud to be saying I'm docked at Bair Island!!

Ian, the doc master has been wonderful to work with! He's considerate, kind, and helpful!!

My maiden voyage will be Sunday and I expect to arrive around 1:30pm when the tide is just right!!

I've kept my boat here for a little over 2 years. I love it. Facilities are nice, weather is unbeatable, and the staff are great. Ian, the harbormaster, is the best. He makes the marina feel welcoming and laid back (as it should) while maintaining a high standard for the facilities. This combination is very difficult to find elsewhere in the bay.

This marina is small and the location is just okay, not really the prettiest area surrounding it. There's a very small dog park here that has artificial grass and I don't see many dogs here. I have met some friendly people here though.

My finance and I went to check out Bair Islands. We did a "pop in" to take a look around. We got there around 4:15pm on a Saturday. There was a message saying they would be back at 4:30pm, so we waited. The lady who was working didn't come back until 5:10pm. We asked her to see the place because my finance was going to be traveling and wouldn't be able to reschedule to come back. She informed us they don't show after 5pm. How convient considering she came back after 5pm when it stated 4:30. It took another 20 minutes for us to convince her to show us just one room. She asked us several questions like, "well how serious are you?" "are you the ones that come here and never rent?", and so forth. We wanted to rent a townhouse, and she showed us a one bedroom. Not the smartest or best sales person. She said the townhomes are ready to be rented, but not ready to show. I'm not sure how that makes any sense because if something is ready to be rented, it better be ready to show. The lady, Kim, clearly does not enjoy her job. The final push was when she told us about the "head of the household". She looked directly at my finance and told him that it'd be best if he was head of the household, etc. He joked and said that Kim should be talking to me since I was really the head of the household. She came back and said, "Well, the head of the household is usually the one that makes the most money". I was shocked that she would assume that the male was the one to make the most money in our household. It's the bay area!!! I know plenty of women who support their household. Anyway, there was nothing special about these condos/apartments. The people who live there seemed nice and well kept, but after being insulted several times by Kim, the winner of "worst sales lady in the bay area", my finance and I will take our business elsewhere.
