My husband and I have bought two vehicles from Bakersfield Hyundai (first a Tucson and then a Palisade) and both times were absolutely great experiences. Not only did we find the vehicles we liked and wanted, but the salesman were always willing to work with us on pricing and exploring multiple financing options to find what worked for us. A big shout out to Glen, who was awesome to work with and sold us both vehicles each time we went, and also thank you to Xavier for most recently, helping us find the vehicle we wanted. From our experiences, the salesman at Hyundai are very understanding, fair, and pleasant to work with. We appreciate you guys!

Had an appointment to look at a vehicle. Before i went in I asked if they'd be able to price match one of their sister dealerships in another city and they mentioned they wouldn't lose a sale to some price match. Making it seem like they could match it.
Went in, I liked the car. I asked to see how much they would give me for my trade-in so I can figure out if I wanted to proceed with the purchasing process. Salesman has me fill out some paperwork asking questions about my trade-in and when he returned I found they ran my credit w/o my permission. I only wanted to see what my trade-in was valued at before deciding to continue. That was a red flag for me, second red flag was I found out they were NOT going to price match the other dealer and on top of that they had a mark up on the price for vehicle i was looking at. They called it a supply and demand price and that is why they were not going to price match.
Overall I will not be coming back to this dealership. I was already warned of bad service from others but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wish they were more transparent and upfront on the pricing instead of making me go in and waste my time only to be told there would be no price match and the price would go up.

DO NOT TRUST BAKERSFIELD HYUNDAI MECHANICS !!!!

I am writing this after my 2016 Hyundai Sonata broke down this afternoon—stranded yet again in unbearable heat on the 5 Freeway, with an engine that overheated for the third time after this dealership claimed to have repaired it. The nightmare started when the engine failed under a safety recall. After months without the car, they finally returned it, only for the engine to overheat almost immediately after leaving their lot. To top it off, the air conditioning had also mysteriously stopped working and the dealership took no resposibility.

We took the car back—again. This time, their "expert" mechanic said the problem was the EGR valve system and slapped us with a $1500 repair bill. Despite every red flag, we took the risk and paid. They assured my wife the car was drivable after the repair. That was a lie. This morning, I took the car out again, and by afternoon, it had overheated yet again on an extremely hazardous place. The 5 fwy northbound of Castaic.

The costs and inconveniences are staggering. Towing fees, countless wasted hours, and the constant stress of knowing I can't rely on this car. My wife had to drive hours to pick me up, in the late afternoon, because Hyundai can’t seem to get a repair right. I’ve had endless back-and-forth communications with Hyundai Motor of America, only to get the same dismal results—their mechanics dont know how to troubleshoot.

The pictures shows the last repair for the EGR system, the car drove only 298 miles after leaving their QA inspection. This shows that the EGR was not the cause of the overheating issue, and that we wasted $1500 of our money in to the wrong diagnosis.

We have given this dealership plenty of chances to get the repair right and we always have the same bad outcome with wrong diagnostics, false promises, and repeated bad experiences. And this is why I have written this review.

I have the car at another Hyundai dealership. Cant wait to see what the actual problem is.

Not sure how they got my number but the dealership was blowing me up for weeks after I continuously told them I was not interested. Yet they continued to make me appointments I told them I wasn’t coming to. I finally went down there so they would stop calling me and they picked a car for me and tried to sell me a car with terrible rates, something like I would have to pay $700+ just for the car loan monthly. They wouldn’t tell me APR % just how much they wanted me to put down. I said in so many words that I was not interested but it turned into like a 2-4 hour conversation about “what would make you leave with the car today?” after I kept saying “NOTHING!” I never wanted that car, I only came down there to get them to stop calling me. This place will harass you. But the facility is super clean and the people are nice, just bugaboos!

Disappointing Experience at Hyundai

I recently had a truly frustrating experience at my local Hyundai dealership that I feel compelled to share. From the moment I walked in, it seemed like the focus was more on making a sale than on providing a positive customer experience.

Despite the efforts of associate Xavier, who genuinely tried to assist me, I felt completely overwhelmed by the process. Andi told me that the credit inquiry would fall off within a few days. I had explained to her that that’s not how it works, and she kept pressuring me to run my credit. It was alarming how many times they ran my credit during what should have been a straightforward transaction. Each time I was told it was for a different reason, but it left me feeling like they were just trying to squeeze every bit of information out of me without any regard for the impact on my credit score.

What was even more disappointing was the lack of support from the Sales Manager, Astred. Instead of offering any comfort or assistance in navigating the situation, Astred seemed indifferent and more focused on making the sale than actually helping me as a customer. She kept telling me to bring in a cosigner after me explained to her several times that I’ve tried everything. And then made a joke before I left about letting her know when I have a cosigner and coming back. I left feeling frustrated and undervalued, which is not how any customer should feel after such a significant purchase.

Thanks to Hyundai for dropping my score nearly 70 points.

Overall, I felt like I was being taken advantage of rather than being treated as a valued customer. I hope Hyundai takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their customer service, because my experience was far from satisfactory.

We went car shopping this past Saturday for our daughter. Our first stop was Hyundai since our daughter had a Hyundai and she was doing a trade in. It was a pleasant experience. Our sales guy Sultan was friendly, professional and very informative. The finance manager Beatriz was straight forward and very monotone but not rude. It was a quick process since it was done on an iPad and electronic.
Our daughter did require a co signer but was not required to put anything down. She was able to drive off the lot with her dream car!
That following Monday a man from Hyundai called her saying her loan was not approved afterall without a down payment and she and her dad had to return. My husband was furious! He felt lied to. He felt as if he was lied to by our sales guy and by the finance manager. They returned and redid everything since Saturday meant nothing!
My husband and I have never had a bad experience with a car dealership before and it is such a shame with Hyundai!
I want to warn consumers purchasing a vehicle to ask, weekends, nothing is guaranteed?
