As a new boat owner, it's a little intimidating to get work done on a used boat for the first time. I didn't have much of a point of reference for what was appropriate for prices beyond some basic research, and didn't understand the technical side very well. Right away when working with Jack and BJ Marine I felt like they are people I can trust to be honest, provide good prioritized recommendation on work and maintenance that needed to be done, and would not overcharge me because of my lack of experience. I had a terrible experience. I was given a boat for my birthday I brought it to BJ Marine, to be serviced and to be checked out. They charged me $2100 to redo the Bellows and do it gear oil, change and oil change and basic tuneup. They also had me pay for a diagnosis after receiving the boat and getting it back to the water I go To launch it and realize that water is pouring into the boat so these guys had me pay for a service on a boat that couldn’t even keep water out. The Most important thing which was, can the boat stay a float? They charge me to service a bad boat. And after this was all set and done, I asked if they could help and they charge me another $300 To silicone around the transom…..brought it back out and it still didn’t work. If you want your boat checked out properly then don’t bring it here.
They also charge me to fix my bilge pump which still to this day isn’t working

Bright my boat in charged me 550 to change impeller
I didn’t know that about 200 more than normal
Didn’t put my trim tab back on and didn’t mark it when taken it off.
Sat on my trim tab and pulled the screws out 1/4 inch on pump for tabs to transom.
Didn’t check my idol or timing like I wanted.
Which I stated I wanted done.
When I went to go fishing after I got it back it didn’t go into reverse or but forward was ok but not the same.
Wouldn’t fix it said that’s why he didn’t wanna work on the boat because he didn’t wanna get blamed for it not working.
Told me that there’s to much play in cables I for some reason believe him and spent 200$ on new cable and installed them myself still same issue.
They put together wrong the shift rod wasn’t correctly put back together.
Big head ach here.

Excellent customer service! Owner called frequently to give status updates while boat was in shop. Once boat was picked up from shop, the owner contacted me several times to make sure boat was running smoothly. Highly recommend.

Jack and dmitriy great guys do good work and unmatched service cannot say enough good things about them fixed my boat and also did a free tuneup on it as well. They know exactly what they’re doing have been in business for a long time. 10\10 recommend

After the curved windshields in my 1997 boat got busted out, BJ Marine was able to quickly repurpose/fabricate a windshield at a reasonable price. I was also able to get some preventative maintenance knocked out, so my boat is ready to hit the water again. I know other shops couldn’t/wouldn’t work on my boat, so I really appreciate BJ Marine did such a good job.

Jack and team are fantastic. We had a horrible experience with it last mechanic and went to Jack. He was responsive, fast, knowledgeable and the price was reasonable. Our aluminum jet fishing boat is FINALLY running the way it should. Just in time for Striper season! Thank you for your expertise!
Wish I could post a video! Because it purrs now and we are happy!
