I can give this place five stars because we did our homework before we came to Catalina and knew what to expect. And we didn't have any issues. You have to have some cash to put down as a deposit for the rental of the cart. The rest can be paid with a credit card if you choose. The reason they want cash for part of it is if you do use the cart for a whole two hours they prorate you by the minute and give you cash back. It works out great. (There is a US Bank ATM nearby)

We also got off the cruise ship about 10 minutes before they opened so we were one of the first in line that morning. The process was quick, the map and information they give was helpful, and the golf cart ran smoothly up and down the hills.

We made several stops at scenic routes as well as parked at the botanical gardens and walked that for approx 40 minutes. We got back to the rental place with a total time of 105 minutes rented. They gave us a few bucks back and we went on our way.

You can rent by the hour. You have 2 hours maximum. If you come back before 2 hours they prorate and return money. The deposit required is cash and that's how they will return any money owed to you if you are using the car less that 2 hours. $65 an hour for 4 person cart, $85 for 6 person. There is a second golf cart place up the street with no line - they run on the same business model. The 6 person cart had a line because we were part of a cruise ship, but the wait was only 45 minutes. We arrived back about 7 minutes into our 2nd hour but they gave us back our entire $65 cash deposit. We were able to do both loops to see views and get out for pictures along the way. A good way to see the island!

This was a blast. Thanks to Evelyn for pointing out all the fun stops. She also suggested the Lobster Trap for food. It did not disappoint. The only bummer was that the fog came in and we couldn't see everything. So a great place to rent from. We didn't use the full 2 hours and they prorated the refund of the amount of time of the second hour we didn't use. I definitely recommend these guys.

It’s hard to rate a golf cart so I’ll break it down as follows. Starting with, it’s worth the cost for a self guided tour of the island. It’s a hella more than what you’d pay for a rental car for two days but if you want to explore the island you gotta pay the price. They require a $60 CASH deposit. If you don’t ever have cash in you like me, conveniently there is an ATM machine less than 20 feet away from the rental office. The price was $60 per hour and one dollar per minute if you go over your two hour allotment. I went over a few minutes, but they did not charge me. You can walk the island if you are a hiker and have good knees. There are lots of heels to climb. The golf cart was in decent condition. It’s easy to drive and navigate on all the roads. Pulling over to Park for a few minutes or even to take a lunch is not a big deal. Your golf cart has a number on it to keep you from jumping on the wrong golf cart when it’s time to takeoff again. There is no concern about someone taking your golf cart.

I went to rent a golf cart here and was refused service. Why? Because I was wearing a hat from Luau Larry's! Nevermind that we visited that restaurant for lunch the day before, had absolutely nothing to drink the morning I tried to rent the golf cart, am 61 years old with an unblemished driving record, and was completely sober and not impaired in any way. I understand how this business needs to protect itself from drunks renting golf carts, but just a little common sense is in order. Unbelievable!

They don't allow reservations so you must wait in line. We waited about 45 minutes for a 4 seater golf. You must have cash for the deposit even if you have a credit card. There is an ATM close by

The staff was great and got us on the way as soon as they could given the line of customers. The cart took some time to get used to, especially the brakes- so try to check out the brakes while you’re on flat terrain. But the cart served its purpose and we were able to get good views and good pictures following the staff’s instructions.

If I could leave less than one star I would !.. Karen their employee made this a terrible experience for me and 20 other people.. including children and elderly.. there are two kart rental places in Catalina island .. this is by far the worst ! . after this experience.. we just went back to the ship.. carnival be ware of recommending this place to ur guest! Guest you might be better off staying on the ship! Save your money!
