I fussed with the existing points system on my 1972 Honda CL 350 for several years but was frustrated with the timing issues and performance of the bike in general. This season, I upgraded to a Charlie’s Place electronic ignition, replaced the coils, and upgraded to a new Motobatt battery. After riding the bike over summer, I feel confident saying that the ridabilty of the bike has greatly improved and I have not had to spend any time tinkering with the ignition. The electronic ignition was very easy to install and set up. Thank you.

I'm based in the UK 🇬🇧 and needed an electronic ignition conversion for a 1973 Honda CL200, which wasn't available here, emailed Charlie, super easy , he gave me a price plus shipping, easy payment via PayPal, 4 days delivery via UPS, so easy to fit to bike , easy to set timing with test light, bike runs so much smoother, much better throttle response. You visually can't tell its fitted and not 100% original, but it's worth the upgrade 100%. Very satisfied 🏍😊

I waited 4 months to write this review just to make sure that Charlies work stayed working. Ive owned and built this bike with just youtube videos for 12 years and its always been an unreliable runner. After leaving it with charlie for a little under a year, not only has the bike not broken down on me in the last 500 miles, its been consistent and reliable enough to daily, and overtake with confidence.

12 years is alot of time to mature and Ill admit, ive done a number of fairly stupid things to this bike in all sorts of ways but he refrained from vocalizing any judgment and got the bike to where I can count on it whenever I want to ride- pretty amazing.

He isnt affordable or fast but without a doubt, he will COMPLETELY fix your mechanical issues. You may have to check in every now and then, and a nut or two might be missing or not completely screwed on but those are small details compared to the amount of experience hes got.

Charlie took my 77’ Honda XL100 that was teetering off a cliff and turned it into a reliable/safe bike that I’ll get to enjoy for many years to come. He walked through every issue and was patient in explaining things. He was very understanding of my budget. When it was time to pick up my bike, he was even kind enough to take apart and fix my ratchet strap. This was an incredible experience and worth every penny. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a vintage bike.

Can't express enough how happy and impressed I am with Charlie and his work! Had my 1978 Honda CB750 fully restored and it looks like it just rode off the assembly line. Made the entire process easy and works with you every step of the way. Transparent with costs and nailed the budget estimate. I purchased Charlie’s electronic ignition for my ‘70 CB350. Easy to install, well made, and very happy with the performance.
I had an unfortunate mishap (100% my fault). One of rocker arm pin locknuts came loose and wreaked havoc on my new electronic ignition.
I emailed Charlie’s Place hoping to buy only the replacement parts, thinking for sure I’d have to buy the entire kit again. Well, Charlie returned my email very quickly on a Sunday night no less. Not only was I able to buy just the piece I needed, but he was also able to provide parts to rebuild the ignition advance, which was also damaged.
Cybelle was on it first thing Monday morning to make sure the parts I needed hit the mail.
What a professional outfit these two run.
