Avalon harbor department is excellent. Our family loves coming to Catalina on vacation. We come over from San Diego about 3-4 times a per year and it's always a pleasure. If you have a boat, mooring in Avalon harbor is awesome!.

We traveled up from Oceanside to fish Catalina Island and ran into some problems with our boat. We ended up spending the night out there and ended up getting towed back to Oceanside marina.
I just want to say the Harbor Master in Avalon was awesome as well as the harbor patrol people they were super helpful! It's not a bad place to get stuck for a night or 2. I just want to let them know there doing a killer job out there! so, if ya have any problems or need mooring out there don't be afraid to ask the Harbor Master very nice, super helpful and can get you pointed in the right direction if ya have any issues if your headed that way.

Arguably one of the most disgusting destinations in California. It is sad that such a naturally beautiful has been trashed in the way that it has. This is white trash heaven with the lowest common denominator of food and services.

Stopped here for the night, harbor patrol hit our boat, scuffing up our paint, and to make matters worse, the mooring they gave us turned out to be next to an all night party. Not recommended.

Very helpful staff. We love sailing here and always look forward to it clean harbor. Glad they started putting the tablets in the holding tanks.
