Arnie helped me buy my new car he was super helpful and knowledgeable about all the cars on the lot. He definitely was straight forward with things and didn’t try to sales pitch me, which I appreciated a lot coming from other dealerships that tried to just that. I was waiting with a friend in the lobby while she was getting her car looked at by the service center. I witnessed a customer angrily asking why he was being charged $1000 for spark plugs plus diagnostic. He went to two other dealerships and asked for printed estimates of what they would charge for the exact same issue plus diagnostic and it came out to approximately $350 for everything.

The manager came out and agreed to forfeit the $350 diagnostic fee ONLY AFTER the customer agreed to not post a review of how they tried to overcharge him with posted pictures of all three estimates together as proof of the outlandish charges.

He made the deal. I did no such thing.

Long story short, COAST NISSAN ILLEGALLY ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE THIS POOR GUY AN EXTRA $750!! I will post on every platform possible to expose the atrocity I witnessed from Coast Nissan. I am truly appalled by their actions.

Angel Barajas was incredibly helpful and fun to work with. I would highly recommend working with Angel if buying a new or used car as he is very knowledgeable and is a great listener. He was very understanding of my needs and wants and did not try to push me to consider vehicles that might not be exactly what I am looking for. Overall I had the best car shopping experience I have ever had and I would recommend Angel and Coast Nissan to anyone interested in new or used cars.

Three years ago, in 2022, I was casually browsing for a larger vehicle that could better accommodate my family. At the time, I was driving a small Jetta and was simply looking for something bigger. Back then, I had little understanding of loans or equity and was fairly naive when it came to financing. I found a vehicle on Coast Nissan’s website and submitted an online inquiry. Almost immediately, I was urged to come into the dealership.

When I arrived, I was pressured into looking at the vehicle, sitting in it, and ultimately signing for it. I still owed $10,000 on my Jetta, but the dealership was deceptive in not fully disclosing that this negative equity would roll over into my new loan. By the time I left, I was stuck with a $35,000 loan on a car worth only $10,000 to $15,000. I felt trapped and devastated, but under immense pressure from the salesmen hovering over me, I signed.

Fast forward to two days ago, I received a call from Coast Nissan, claiming they wanted to buy my used vehicle. They were aggressive, pushing the idea that they could get me into a brand-new electric car with a lease that would supposedly eliminate my negative equity. Instead of heading straight to them, I first visited Toyota, where I’ve had much better experiences.

At Toyota, I explained my situation clearly—I was not willing to take on a higher payment, put any money down, or take on more debt. The representative was upfront with me, saying that while he could put me into a lease, I would still be responsible for my current loan. I truly appreciated his honesty—there was no pressure, no credit check, just a straightforward assessment of my options. I left feeling respected and informed.

My experience at Coast Nissan was the complete opposite. They initially claimed they could roll my negative equity into a lease, but when the manager got involved, his approach was aggressive. He insisted that financing was my only option. I repeated the same terms I had given Toyota—I would not accept a higher payment, put money down, or take on more debt. Yet he continued pushing financing, pressured me into a credit check, and tried to sell me a car I had no interest in.

When I stood my ground and made it clear I wouldn’t be financing another vehicle, he dismissively asked, “Then what are you doing here?” To which I responded, “You called me—I didn’t call you. I wasn’t looking for a new car. So you tell me why I’m here.”

In the end, they tried to saddle me with a $50,000 loan and a payment $200-$300 higher than what I currently pay. The manager was relentless, clearly trying to force a sale rather than genuinely helping me. Despite their claims of having the customer’s best interests at heart and not working on commission, their tactics made it clear that their only priority was making a sale. Thankfully, due to my previous experience, I was not going to be intimidated or pressured into a worse situation than I’m already stuck in.

Coast Nissan has lost me as a customer forever. Their lack of transparency, pushy sales tactics, and disregard for their customers’ financial well-being make it clear they are only interested in profits, not relationships. I can’t wait to get out of my Nissan, and I will never step foot in Coast Nissan again. I highly recommend steering clear of this establishment unless you’re well versed in how vehicle sales work and you have the funds to avoid being duped.

Service department was very disappointing. Made appointment for addressing recall. Was told 90 minutes. Turned in to 12 hours over two days. Resulted in a loss of one day of work for me. They left a tool in my car, two screws left on the floor and failed to properly connect battery terminal resulting in loss of power and function while underway on highway.
