Your experience with this car rental service depends on what you expect. I wanted a cheap car where I didn't care about the condition of the car. So I got a cheap car with the expected signs of wear and tear. When my car broke down, the car was immediately swapped for a better car.

The staff are very friendly.

If you are looking for cheap cars with good service, I can fully recommend this rental. However, if you are looking for flawless and accident-free cars and have more budget, I would recommend viewing the car beforehand, if possible.

I very rarely make a google review if even ever. But I just had to do one for Dirt cheap car rental. I've been doing long term car rent from these guys for 8 months now and I have to say that unlike every other place i've tried out, these guys are great. Everyone that works there is so proffesional and helpful. Great service, quick response on phone and mail and very straight up.

Someone who rented a car from this company backed their car into my truck setting my alarm off. My mom saw it in the camera. I gave the individual my insurance information thinking that he would do what normal people do and give me his. However, he said he told these people and filled out the form. Yet nobody's contacted me. I have not received a voicemail nor an email yet. They have my information my policy numbers but I can't get theirs and I am not the one who put the dent in my car... It's hilarious that since they're plastic car has no dent, they think they're not in the wrong. However, insurance information is needed or suppose I can file a lawsuit.. And the fact that I took a month to reply to the guy about hitting my car is irrelevant because he put a note on my car which assumes guilt in the first place. Probably cuz my alarm was going off but regardless there's a dent in my truck that was never there before it bothers me. There's a 2-year statue it on these sort of things so it's not late and better late than never right? But these people don't seem to care much..... I would never rent a car from here because I don't want dirt cheap service

When I say this is the best establishment I’ve been in I mean it . I was helped by this young man Deigo who was one of the most accommodating people I have ever met. I had so many speed bumps and things were going wrong left and right and he did everything in his power to make sure that I was able to get the car today, and he did it all with a smile. I will recommend this place to all my friends and everyone until the day I die . Because of them I am able to attend an important event I needed to be at tonight if y’all need a car this is the place to go to.

I’m having such a headache with the insurance this company holds. Someone that rented a car from Dirt Cheap Car Rental, hit my car really bad in the back a month ago, bringing so much damage to my car that is now stuck at a mechanic shop. The insurance company will not answer the phone or email. This company allows inexperienced drivers to rent their cars and cause accidents out there. Irresponsible, terrible service. I was advised to get a lawyer and it seems to be the only way.

This place seems sketch. The site doesn't even show you any cars, prices, nothing. I went to the menu onto of the website and it doesn't send you anywhere. All you can do is request a quote. I did that. Sometime later I received an email saying. We don't have any cars for tomorrow, sorry.
So I called, I explained what I was sent on the email and asked when is the soonest car they will have available. I was told probably not until next week, maybe Friday.
Never in my freaking life have I ever heard a car rental place doesn't have any cars. I'm guessing this is a 5 to 7 car place. I'm just baffled...never in my life. All the cars companies I ever rented from have I heard this.
I came on here and saw some of the reviews and yes...sketchy is correct.

Card ran for more than original rental agreement within rental car contract timeframe. Refused to give me a car I requested, gave me an older car from 2012 verified by my auto insurance policy.

My girlfriend and i recently decided to spontaneously fly to LA and visit San Diego. We are both students, and don't have a large income.
I am SO thankful that i found Dirt Cheap Car Rental on google. We needed a car with a good MPG rating, that didn't need to be the newest possible model and wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg. I browsed through offers of many other car rental agencies near the airport and old town area.

For the 8 days that i was going to be needing a car in SD the price i would have had to pay, at a larger car rental agency, was on average around 750$ (with insurance included). This only being my second time ever having rented a car, i wasn't sure if this price was reasonable, however it was definitely too high for my budget.

I decided to give this company a try because of their great amazon reviews and their practical location in old town. I am so glad i did.
I ended up being able to rent a 2016 Kia Rio with, on average, a 30mpg rating. I was so happy and barely payed anything for gas, even though we were constantly driving around SD. For 30$ i was even able to extend my insurance and take a day trip up to Joshua Tree National Park.

The car was in great shape, only a few scratches here and there.
I payed around 255$ for the 8 day rental (with insurance included!) - awesome!!!

The customer service was great, returning the car went quickly.
I will absolutely rent from this agency again! A well deserved 5 stars.
