I've rented from Jack three times now and is always a pleasure to work with. He's fair on price and it's a good deal if you need a rental and don't have a credit card (as most car rentals require a credit card deposit). I will definitely rent from Easy Rent A Car again.

The best car rental place in San Diego! Insanely good prices and the owner is super nice to work with. If you are looking for a place this is where you want to go! The reviews saying the cars are not nice are wrong and he provides you with the best deals possible! 100% do not listen to those saying he charges extra because he is very upfront about how much. I have rented multiple times and each time he has you take photos and has never taken my deposit or tried to withhold.

I have mixed feelings about this car rental. Let me list the pros and cons based on my experience:

(+) No credit card needed for rentals.
(+) Good prices for long-term car rentals: I paid $800/month for my two month rental.
(+) The rental asked me to take pictures by myself as proof of evidence in case later they find a damage that I have not caused. This is kind and I always recommend doing that.

(o) Hefty prices for short-term car rentals to Tijuana, Mexico. I paid $369 for three days (including car insurance).
(o) My car was not in a good condition. It was an old Nissan Sentra, which is okay and understandable that they do not want to give me a newer one if I want to go with it to Mexico. However, I had issues with the tire from the beginning on. He sent me to a garage nearby but the issue with the blinking light due to low tire pressure persisted. He demanded that I need to check the tires weekly instead of fixing things properly. I had a flat tire once and they could not fix the tire because a previous fix (a plug) leaked too, so the tire had to be changed. I later identified that one tire that was leaking from the beginning on and let it fix too. At the very end I had no missing pressure lights in my cockpit anymore. Also, I noticed that the hand brake is not working at all.
(o) It took them more than a week to refund me my $400 of deposit.

(—) I was not made aware of additional credit card charges that are put on me. Usually the merchant pays them. Instead of $1600, they charged me $1664 without my prior permission. If I would have known this in advance, I would have paid in cash instead.
(—) I did not receive any refund for the new tire that I had to buy because the existing one could not be fixed anymore after it was fixed before badly. I called the rental when this happened and they did not provide any useful help. Also my email describing the case and asking for a (partial) refund was not replied. Later, when I returned the car they said I should have called and they would have guided me to their local garage. They offered me a $25 refund (of the $160 that I paid) for a 5* review (to be written on-site), which I never received and decided upon this to edit my review.
