I recently visited ELV Motors, and unfortunately, my experience was less than stellar. I was hoping to take advantage of the California Ebike rebate and was looking for a bike that would qualify for it. However, the staff seemed completely uninformed about the specifics of the rebate program. When I asked for guidance on which models would be eligible, they couldn’t offer any clear answers, which was frustrating. Additionally, I found their website to be misleading. They have a section showcasing various e-bikes, but it’s outdated—many of the models listed weren’t available in-store. The site claims they work to keep it updated, but that certainly wasn’t my experience. It even mentions calling for information on specific models, so I did, only to find that a bike I had inquired about was priced about 50% higher than what was shown online. I wasn’t aware of these discrepancies until I visited their location, and it quickly became clear that the bikes listed on the website don’t match the stock at this smaller store.

To make matters worse, the only bikes they had in stock were high-end options priced over $3,000. When I asked about more affordable options, the representative seemed visibly annoyed, almost as if it was an inconvenience that I would inquire about pricing or availability. Given the lack of helpfulness, transparency, and general customer service, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your e-bike needs. There are plenty of other retailers that are more knowledgeable and will be more than happy to assist you in finding the right bike, especially when it comes to navigating rebates like California’s.

I really researched this bike and am always afraid of scams online, so finding ELV Motors and doing business locally was a big relief. To have nice knowledgeable staff that can dial in your ride and answer technical questions is a double bonus, plus I didn't have to wait, they gave me the online deal and my money stayed local. Brent and all the guys are top notch and made my purchase a delightful one, I wouldn't go anywhere else for a E bike.

ELV is the go to place for all electrical two and three wheelers here locally. They seem well-established. Came to them after a 4 hour attempt to change a motorized flat tire with no luck. They spent time not only repairing it at a reasonable cost but also gave valuable tips to maximize lifespan usage of the scooter, very knowledgeable and helpful crew! Their turn around time was prompt considering how busy they were (small crew) that manages store). They have some of the coolest electric dirt bikes too! Showroom is large and the selection of bikes and scooters was extensive. I’ll be back for sure once I’m ready for the electro dirt bike.

I don't know why anybody would by an e-blke anywhere else. Not only an excellent, almost overwhelming, selection of e-bikes in stock (only e-bikes; no distracting non-e bikes.) - and even more available on special order - and very knowledgeable sales and repair staff, but also substantial discounts on shop labor for bikes bought at ELV. After letting me try every bike I was curious about, they gave me an excellent price on the bike I liked best, even below what was on the already-heavily-discounted price tag.

Happily, the store is located in the coverage area of SVHopper, so getting there from Cupertino/Santa Clara to buy or drop-off or pick up your bike is easy and cheap if you have no car.

ELV staff answered all my questions, shared personal insights and experiences, gave me a great deal, and never made me feel like my choice was getting influenced for their benefit.

Based on my buying experience, I'd give 'em 10 out of 10 stars.
