Picked up a buggy with a yard of concrete. The guy tells me I gave you a little bit extra. I come back to return it and there’s about a wheelbarrow left in it and since it’s Sunday, there’s nowhere where I can dump it pretty much ended up paying $125 for that “extra” “cleaning fee”

I rented a John Deere skid steer, 320 G, with a 78 inch grapple rake bucket. It’s my second time renting this unit in the last year and a half, though for two different applications. If you’re looking to be able to clean up a site and grab stuff that you’re scooping into the bucket, the grapple is the only way to go.

Though I rented from a Bakersfield location, the property i had to work on is an hour and a half east in Bear Valley Springs, up in Tehachapi. I have tried renting from other companies closer in proximity to that property, but I have decided it’s worth towing the equipment, an extra two hours to get the quality and service GCI offers in Bakersfield.

We had an issue with the equipment, called the store and were immediately given a mechanic that explained what we might’ve done wrong and what we had to do to rectify the situation. Not one more problem, the rest of the day. It was great to be able to talk to somebody who knows the equipment intimately And exactly what the issue was.

I will say, I liked the tracked skid steer better than the four wheels, but I was able to get a bigger and more powerful piece of equipment from GCI, and cost less than a local rental.

Very good place of business. Very honest and transparent. These guys really go out of their way to make sure you get what you need. I had an incident with damage to my bumper of my truck. They didn't argue or try to blame me. They just made it right. Their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this company to anyone. They have mine and my family's business.

Had a problem with the last batch of concrete I ordered. I left a review about it and the sales manager Jerry got a hold of me and came over to my house and they took care of the situation. I am very impressed that he came out to my home and offered to pay for my second batch of concrete.

NOT Recommended. Early May I rented a 1/2" power snake. Apparently they don't replace the snake cables as they should as it broke off in my line without even hitting an obstacle. I took it back, explained what happened and asked how they were going to resolve their problem. Employees were good but had no remedy so I asked to speak to the manager. They didn't want to talk to me and simply said they would not charge for the rental - basically did nothing and didn't care enough to talk to me. One of the employees called a plumber that he works with and explain they had a problem that need to be resolved. He came out to the house and spent a good deal of time attempting to retrieve the broken cable. He said it might have slid down into the sump pit. I paid his bill and on May 9th sent a copy to the manager of CGI asking for reimbursement and explained it all. The manager has ignored my letter. My experience is poor customer service, lack of equipment maintenance and total lack of caring for the customer or common business ethics. I would avoid CGI Equipment Rental, use their competitors for your rental needs to avoid similar problems.
