1st time up this way staying over. Picked this place for friends wedding, met another who was coming in with her rv. So happy she recommended this spot. Check in was with friendly attentive staff, Dana, cute little store on site too to grab the marshmallows I forgot. Mike was also another on site host who was so helpful and nice in showing the cabin and pointing everything out. The bunkhouse is just as pictured, cozy with basic essentials. Home away from home. Felt surprisingly safe, comfy bed. Grounds are well kept, and scenic. Bring own bedding and towels, read rules and info provided ahead of trip ;p The owner Kayla is genuinely one of the kindest people I have met in a very long time, 5 star ⭐️ My friend stayed in space 18 and was so happy with the campsite amenities and staff she stayed an additional night. She was also impressed with the great hospitality and beautiful surroundings. Just a very sweet spot, and well cared for.

Lovely place! We stayed for 4 nights in spot 19 and it was quiet, peaceful, and clean. The hosts guide you to your spot and help you back in 👌 There was a lovely grove behind our site that was great for our daughter and pup to play around in. With full hookups, we didn't need it, but appreciated the restrooms right across from us. The pool was under construction while we were there which wasn't ideal but we're understanding and found other ways to enjoy the area. We explored Big Trees just 4 minutes down the road and made 2 day trips to Lake Alpine just 35 minutes north. We're already talking about going back!

This is a nicely run campground near beautiful Bear Valley. There are some cabins but we had an RV so I can't comment on them. Management is friendly and helpful. I think they just bought the place about a year ago and are making some renovations on the place. We enjoyed our stay. We were on a cycling vacation. You have to pay for showers but we had an RV and the campground gives full hookups so it didn't matter for us

I had a wonderful stay at Golden Pines. The location is perfect for visiting some hiking trails, Big Trees or for enjoying the cute shops of Murphy. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait to visit again!

The crew is so unwelcoming it is unbelievable. This place is run by 0 empathy, lies and rudeness.
The camp grounds are separated with round logs. One of them rolled down risking our kid’s lives.
Our camp water sprayed water at every direction except down. All of the guys at check in and patrolling were very annoying. They ruined the experience for us.

We had five days booked and our RV slide outs would not work so we were forced to head back home with three very unhappy grandchild. The host would not even consider giving us a credit for future camping or even contact someone above him for permission. My husband and I felt that was very unreasonable. He saw us struggling with three small children for over three hours. We did not expect him to help us or anything like that, but we would have liked to at least have a credit for a future camp adventure. We had no access to our refrigerator or sleeping. We left extremely disappointed!!!!!!

We had a lovely time at this campground. Super peaceful and serene. We got the full array of weather during our stay. Snow, rain and gorgeous spring day. We had the place to ourselves on Monday!
