Absolutely terrible. I rented a car in Miami for a road trip with my wife and baby. The car I received broke down on the highway (the brakes stopped responding) so I pulled over to a nearby hotel for my family's safety. After turning off the car in front of the hotel, it would start again. I called Hertz emergency road side assistance and they dispatched AAA for a jump start. The car started but the check engine light came on and the brakes were not working. When I tried starting the car again, it didnt start. Hertz Roadside Assistance advised I take the car to the nearest Hertz location which was in Jacksonville airport to exchange it for a car that works. Once the car was towed to Hertz in Jacksonville Airport, I was supposed to go to the counter and simply exchange the car for another one using my roadside assistance case number. At the desk, I was advised that the car could not be exchanged and also that I returned it late, without a full tank of gas and in another location. I also had to prove that the car was returned, thankfully I took pictures of everything. Logically, Hertz should not have vehicles with faulty brakes on the road. I explained my situation, gave the desk my emergency road side assistance case and instead of getting help ad promised I was advised that I had to pay a $600 fee for returning the vehicle in a different rental location and $112 for not filling it up with gas. This company is stealing money from it's clients. It's not my problem that Hertz doesn't maintain their vehicles and I don't know how they can advise clients to drive a car 400 miles with faulty brakes and dead battery. Also they had the audacity to state I returned the car late when it was towed by AAA into their lot because it didn't work, the case was reported a day prior to the due date. In an ideal world I would have been provided a working car and returned to Miami before the due date. This is criminal and I will sue Hertz.

I booked my car online with my gold Hertz membership. They overcharged me and when I disputed the amount with the credit card, they sent the signed contract. So yes I am at fault for not reading and signing without making sure. Hertz, you have lost my business FOREVER.

I had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Rosalind at Hertz in Jacksonville Airport. From the moment I approached the counter, she treated me with such warmth and kindness that I felt like part of her family. Her welcoming demeanor instantly put me at ease during the rental process.

Not a trustworthy company. I canceled the reservation 24 hours before scheduled pickup on a prepaid rental. It was suppose to be a $100 cancellation fee, which meant I would be refunded $129.56. I was only refunded $61.56. Had to call and request the difference be refunded. I’ve had other issues in the past where I dropped off a vehicle after a rental and they never checked it back in, and they tried to charge me for additional days after the vehicles had been returned. Sketchy company. I’d recommend using caution if you decide to do business with them.

Made a car reservation on the website which was confirmed. Took a Lyft to the airport to pickup the car and was told they were not going to honor the reservation. The individual at the desk did not even try to help and was very curt.. I understand everyone can have a bad day and we were not looking for miracles but rather thought we should have been treated as a customer would normally be treated with some small amount of courtesy. Evidently this is how Hertz treats their customers.

Hertz Jacksonville airport is a Joke. Long story short. Beware of Hidden fees. First it took 45 minutes to get the prepaid car at the airport. Then I was charged all these extra fees $73 which clearly stated in my prepaid rental that it included all taxes and fee.

Then they lied on the the level of fuel in the car when I got it. It stated full on the rental receipt. NOT. Unbelievable. These guys are crooks in my book. Never ever again Hertz.

12/6 - Very unfriendly and rude customer service representative. This woman was gave my mother a hard time at the desk making her show government ID and telling her to take out her laptop and show proof of her USAA membership. She gave us attitude with every question we had. We’ve used USAA for rental car reservations for years and never had to jump through so many hoops as this representative had us do. Seemed like a major inconvenience to the woman at the front desk to help us. Seemed like she hated her job and wanted to give us a hard time. Unfriendly, unwelcoming, and rude. What a way to arrive in Jacksonville for the first time. People should rather just rent from Turo and avoid nasty customer reps. If she treated us this way she has probably done this to other customers. Fire this woman. Nappy headed weave, glasses, and smoker lips.

Liars and thieves. I booked a rental car while my sister is visiting and I was refused pick-up. Told they couldn’t take me virtual credit card or Apple Pay and to call the help number. The agent on the line said I could use my debit card but would need to meet certain requirements, which was fine with me. I got back in line only to be told I needed proof of an outgoing flight IN MY NAME. No where in the fine print is this specified (which I’ve attached). No where on their requirements plaque at the desk is this specified. The agent I spoke with on the phone did not specify this. No where does it say this flights needs to be in my name. I was charged 2x for my rental, was refused pick up, and their billing number will not answer, as I’m left on hold for long periods of time. I spoke with Shawn their supervisor and the other bald man at the desk. They were rude and provided absolutely no help at all. Do not recommend.
