Better not booking from Hertz at ONT.
I am a President Circle for many years but I think I need to prevent booking from this branch again. 1> Their weekly rental fee is 50% more than booking from Hertz at Los Angeles International Airport. 2> Even their customers are willing to pay this expensive price, they cannot offer enough cars for renters to choose and overbooking seems to be normal here.

I reserved a full size car to be picked up at the ONT Hertz facility. I arrived on time and the name board instructed to pick up a vehicle in the Gold area. I was shocked when I arrived at the Gold area because there was only 1 full size car left at the time! I had no choice but to drive that car. I found the driver seat with food debris! The car was not cleaned properly. Later I tried to open the glove box and the whole glove box just came off! As I opened the trunk, I found one of the back seat release cables was detached! I'd used Hertz for about 20 years and this time I am disappointed! I think I will switch to other car rental companies next time I use ONT airport.

Flight got in late so I wasn’t able to pick up my rental. I was in line at 630am with 3 others & we were all helped by one person in less than 15 mins! Dave was super quick and nice to interact with so early in the morning. Cars are really clean & the overall experience was 5 stars. Would definitely recommend!

Keep in mind, they technically close at 1130pm so if you get to the rental center at midnight or later like me, you’re probably going to need to pick up your car in the morning. No need to change your reservation either. It’s good for 24hrs just fyi.

We came into the Ontario airport last night on Christmas to pick up our car and the gates were shut and no one was at the counter. Our reservation was at 10:30pm and we got there at 10:15pm. The location isn’t supposed to close until 11:30pm. We called customer service and were told we had to come back in the morning.

With that being said Uber and Lyft were extremely expensive and the only other rental car place that had a car was budget. We ended up having to pay $192.19 just to have a car to get to our Airbnb that was 40 min away and bring it back first thing this morning to pick up the car we had already set to rent from you guys. We paid $12.86 in gas for this.

Additionally when we came in this morning to pick up the hertz car he told us yeah sorry we were over booked so they sent everyone home.
When we got there last night there were a few cars in the parking lot. None the less no notification was given to us we were just left out to dry. Along with 2 other families with small children.

When I went to pay for the car this morning the “lead” on duty Dave said he would give us a day for free plus the insurance for free. When I got the receipt he still charged us the insurance for one day. When I asked him about it he said oh no I already took it off. I added it up and he didn’t but wasn’t going to continue to argue and said we will figure it out with you. We should have only paid $63.48 with tax and he charged us $99.54.
We don’t usually do the insurance because it’s covered on my credit card. If you look back at our past reservations we don’t ever do the insurance so it’s frustrating we still got charged for it when he said it would be free for all the trouble and if it wasn’t we wouldn’t have gotten it.

Later on I go to look at our bank statement and there are two charges on there. One for $84 and one for $361. Now $145 over what should be held as our car was $99. This is just ridiculous at this point. I have gone to the GM and am supposed to be hearing back from a manager regarding this but up until now I have not heard back.

A big thank you to the wonderful woman and all the employees who stayed late when all the other companies closed on 12/24/24. American Airlines ruined everyone's Christmas and were unapologetic about it. Hertz was kind enough to stick around a little later knowing that people had been delayed. Thanks again and I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

I’m President’s Circle and this Hertz location is the final straw for me to change rental car companies. I had a reservation for a rental today with a pickup time of 2PM. Due to bad weather at my departure airport which caused flight cancellations and having to take a much later flight, I didn’t arrive until 10:30PM to the car rental center. I tried calling the Hertz location to let them know of my late arrival earlier in the day, but no one ever answered the phone. When I arrived to the car rental center, the Hertz desk was closed and the gate to the parking lot was locked. I asked the gentleman at the next counter where they were and he said they left at 7:30PM. The website online says they close at 11:30PM. This is ridiculous that (1) no one was there during the posted hours, (2) no one answers the phone when called or (3) that no one called me to inform me that there were no cars (and that they were leaving at 7:30AM) when I would get there. If Hertz doesn’t reach out to me and make this right…and I mean really right, they can keep Tom Brady and I’m going elsewhere. Avoid this place like the plague.

Had a car available when I needed one last minute without a reservation. Saved the day for me and the customer service was great. Returning the car was an easy process and I was on my way in minutes.

When we turned our car in there was only one woman checking them in. Another employee told me we could leave the keys in the car and she would email us the receipt. Thirty minutes later we were charged a $55 cleaning fee. The car was SUPER clean. I can't begin to imagine what they dinged us for. I think this is a scam.
