Rented a car for 5 days (01/01 - 01/05) and it was such an easy and smooth process. Despite how hectic the Palm Springs Airport was, we had our keys within minutes of getting in line. The vehicle was fabulous! A 2025 Kia K4. She was zippy and well maintained. Dropping off was a breeze. Just got in line, had someone look it over and verify the tank was full, and then we were done! I recommend filling up at the Walmart by the airport, it is about $1 cheaper a gallon compared to the surrounding gas stations. Thanks for a fun trip!

This scam company is attempting to charge me 50 dollars to clean dust off the car shown here. I had to drive through a puddle on a smooth named dirt road. There are dirt roads everywhere around Palm spring and Joshuas tree. Absolutely predatory.

Let me start by saying I was pretty irritated by the time I got to the front desk. I had flown in the night before and knew I was going to arrive late. I had let Hertz know that I was going to be arriving late. I had hoped that I still might be able to pick up the vehicle. The hurts closes at 11 PM and admittedly I was not there until 1 AM. Nobody was there. The 800 number was also closed. So I had the opportunity to sleep in the airport. This is not a comfortable airport to sleep in. I have since adopted the practice of always carrying an inflatable mattress in my carry-on for these situations. so when I arrive in the morning, everything was great. The reason it was great because the guy that took care of me named Michael was amazing. They weren’t even open yet and he was happy to get me checked in. My bill was automatically adjusted because I wasn’t able to pick it up the night before. No matter how poorly things are going, when you deal with superb customer service, everything is great. If anyone complains about this Location, I can say confidently it is because they didn’t work with Michael.

Rented a car from here which was a great experience. Dianne was very helpful during pickup and quite friendly. I have rented from Hertz multiple times over the years.

However... Upon returning my vehicle I was greeted by an associate in the return line. She greeted me and did a walk around the vehicle and told me I was good to go. 45 minutes later in the airport I get an email about damage to the vehicle. A scratch on the front bumper and a scratch on trunk bumper. Neither of which I caused nor was it mentioned when I dropped off the vehicle. I was traveling on military orders and paid with a government card. Meaning I'm insured, so if I knowingly caused damage, I would have reported it at turn in.

I have read similar reviews on here. I'll edit this review if the company handles this appropriately. Until then stay away.

As a Presidents Circle member, I expected the level of service and vehicle class that comes with this status. I reserved a Nissan Maxima (or similar), but was given a lower-tiered Nissan Altima instead. This was disappointing, as I rely on consistency and premium service as a loyal, repeat customer. It seems this rental center doesn’t prioritize its most frequent customers. A word of caution: always double-check the car class you’re being assigned before leaving the counter. Unfortunately, this experience has left me questioning the value of my membership.

Booking and picking up the car went well. Dropping off the car well welll also. But when the bill came into my email cause I used their drop off lane, I noticed on the bill there's a charge for fuel purchase option written exactly like that with a charge of 132.03. I never agreed and never agree to that ever with any rental car, water pump, heavy Equipment, light plant etc... I always fill the rental up just before drop off. As I did this morning. I look at the receipt from Pick up and they have it written down FPO. They don't have it written. Plus I certainly remember not agreeing to that option either. I had read the reviews and noticed this place had a 3.3 rating out of just over 200 reviews and lots say they charge money they shouldn't. That is pretty sneaky to write FPO and not just write fuel purchase option. Basically robbing. Looking at the reviews I should've never used Hertz cause Enterprise have 4.4 rating with over 800 reviews. That's who I had used last time we were in Palm Springs. Should've stuck with Enterprise. Hertz is good in Edmonton but clearly these guys here seem to think they can take advantage of tourists. I'm in the process of trying to get my money back but it's not gonna be an easy process. My advice is use someone else but if you don't have a choice make sure they don't try to bend you over because according to the reviews it seems to be a common thing for them to do here in Palm Springs. I don't like people that run a business focused on stealing from people. That shouldn't even be aloud and they should only offer that if you specifically ask for it. I know I didn't want it or ask for it. Then they'll say we'll you signed the agreement. Yes I did. But if it's not written done in fuel purchase option and instead written FPO it's kinda hard to catch until you catch it or you read this post. I guarantee no one will catch me with that scam again and I hope everyone reads this post and catches before signing the agreement. And when you do, let them know they're scammers for trying. Once they get called out to many times they'll hopefully quit trying to steal money from people. I'll update my post if they ever reimburse me but that won't change their rating from me.

I didn’t expect exceptional treatment just because of my President’s Circle status, but I certainly didn’t expect to have my status questioned by the front desk due to an outdated license on my account. If this is how top-tier members are treated, I can only imagine how standard members are handled. The entire experience was disappointing. The staff member wearing the Santa hat brought no holiday cheer to the interaction, which added to the unpleasantness. I’ll be avoiding this Hertz location in the future—Avis seems like a better option at this airport.

Rented a small suv. got to the airport hertz counter upon arrival and they had no cars. After 2 hours I was only offered a large mini van. Took it because I was tired of waiting. The van was way too big for me to drive. Didn’t even fit in the driveway of the condo we rented. Went back two days later and they still didn’t have a small suv so I was given a Nissan Altima. My elderly mother has arthritis in her back and this car is extremely hard for her to get in and out and as a result her back is extremely sore. I’m now in my way back to get the small suv I rented. I keep calling the airport hertz to see if they have one but they don’t answer their phone so I have to drive there again. Not impressed and will not rent a vehicle from hertz again.
