Absolutely poor customer service. Our reservation called for a car seat and they did not have it or make any preparations to get one from another branch. They only informed us when we got there and we were traveling that same day in a few hours. They made us call a hertz corporate hotline instead of them doing the work themselves and calling their own direct lines or management themselves. Will be going to enterprise and or Avis next time.

I reserved a Midsize SUV with Hertz but was given an extra-large vehicle that I wasn’t comfortable with. The gas tank was not full, and one tire had very low pressure. The manager, Maria, assured me it would improve after driving, but an hour later, the issue remained. I had to return to the rental location to fix it.

When I returned the vehicle, I was unexpectedly charged for extra gas and hours, despite refueling beyond the initial level and receiving approval to return it an hour late due to the tire issue. I had to go back again to have the charges corrected. Additionally, they promised to credit points to my account for the inconvenience, but it never happened. Very disappointing service from a company with such a good reputation!

Maria is horrible. Went in to pick up a rental being paid for by dealership while my car is being serviced. I provided hertz the information/paperwork dealer told me to give them regarding payment for the rental. Credit card was requested and i was informed a $50 dollar hold would be applied and released once I returned the car. I returned the next morning because hertz had put in 3 different charges $394 $394 $421 ($1200 hold) When I asked rep to cancel or reverse the hold on the funds reps refused. Said holds were a system glitch and would reverse but I still wanted to know why any charge other than the $50 hold amount was being requested in the first place. Reps said they didn't know. I left and contacted a different customer service rep. Turns out they created a personal rental contract instead of submitting the dealership information I gave them from the begining so hertz hold was valid and will not be released. I returned for a 3rd time! I asked them to correct and update the contract with the information I had originally provided them from the dealer and Maria refused. Kept telling me i needed to leave. After an hour of back and forth between me Maria and dealership Maria said she updated information but refused to provide copy of a new contract showing any refrence of dealership. She ripped off the front page with a new total of $245 and threw out the rest. If she actually fixed it or not I don't know. Additionally if the issue is with hertz and payment with the dealership that should have been disclosed from the begining. I understand accidents and mistakes happen but lying about charges and refusing to correct mistakes is bad business practice. Maria....do better!

It is unacceptable for individuals to urinate in the parking lot of this establishment, especially in a manner that provides full visibility to neighboring residents. It is imperative that employees be reminded to use the designated restrooms. Presence of individuals urinating in the vicinity of families and children creates an uncomfortable and unsanitary environment.

Great customer service. The manager.(name is unknown because she doesn’t have a name tag) showed great customer skills, understanding, and sympathy. The final receipt was issued in the very timely manner. I strongly recommend Hertz in Poway.
