Absolutely crappy experience. Possibly the worst of all my experiences at hertz. I reserved a car online, I got a ‘managers special’, when I went to the redwood location to pick up the car (after paying for uber ride), I was told they don’t have a car. Was offered an ‘upgrade’ to a Prius for $30/day extra. Are you kidding me?

This is the worst managers special I’ve seen. They should call it ‘we can’t honor our commitment special’.

These people literally tried to rent me a Chevy Volt as a mid-size SUV. (look it up, it is a compact car, like- less room than a standard 4 door sedan- they even pushed a Malibu, not a particularly large 4 door sedan, as being larger and having more room than the volt... Which it does, because the volt is- wait for it- a compact car! Go figure.) Waiting a half hour for a Rav 4 from Burlingame bc I wasn't as gullible as they hoped....

And just to add, the manufacturer (and anyone besides Hertz lol) classifies a Toyota RAV4 as a *compact* SUV.... While they are charging me for a *midsize*.

Avis on the other hand, when I rented from them earlier this month, upgraded me for no additional charge to a *full size* SUV when they didn't have a midsize available.

Please, park and actual midsize SUV next to a Chevy Volt and tell me if you see the difference.

Once I got to the place the customer service was great but if you ever need to call them or speak to them over the phone, it's a wrap! Had to call 8 times before someone even picked up then put me immediately on hold. I needed a pick up from the auto body place and Hertz called me the day before to confirm the time and address of pick up. Fast forward to the day of pick up, I waited until my scheduled time of 9:15am before calling the location. Had to call 3 times to get someone on the phone and then they acted like I didn't have a pick up scheduled. I was close by so luckily I got picked up at 9:25am but still how annoying. Once I got to the location there were 5 desks and only 1 employee working. Please staff this place better! I will add any time I have been able to speak to someone or interacted with someone, they have all been very nice and attentive.

I hesitated renting from here based on the reviews but the agent at SFO didn’t add liability insurance so had to come to add it to my existing reservation.

Henock helped resolve the issue and even offered to upgrade the car for the inconvenience caused. Everything went smoothly and I had a blast riding my rental! Would defiantly come back again 🙂

The staff was really nice. Provided us a car with very short notice, the car was very well maintained. Overall a good place to rent a car.

Been going to this local Hertz location for the last 2.5 years and the staff is great here! Attentive and smooth service. No issues with extending the rental or any other questions. Cars always get delivered clean and full, ready to go.

Only note would be to regional management, there always seems to be a shortage of staff & cars at this location, which is great for me as a customer as I often get complimentary upgrades of the vehicle due to my category not being available, but often seems to result in additional stress on the team, which they always handle great!

Beth is amazing!! She helped me with Tesla rental. They dont have a car so she reffered me to Burlingame hertz. Helped me throughout the process.

Horrible experience. We made a reservation a day prior, and when we got there, we were told our car would be ready after an hour. We waited for over an hour, and Danny, an agent working there, informed us that we wouldn't be able to pick up our car today and that there was nothing he could do about it. He was also rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Avoid this place for rentals.
