This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

I booked a car about a month ago for today and arranged for a pickup at the repair shop where I was dropping off my own car. They called me a couple of times to confirm, so everything seemed fine. However, when I called today to confirm the pickup and proceed with the rental, they told me the booked cars were not available. Instead, they offered other options but insisted I would need to pay extra $$.

This completely ruined my schedule.

You ever walk into a situation knowing full well it’s gonna be a disaster, but somehow it’s even worse than you imagined? That was my experience with Dollar Rent-a-Car aka Hertz, or as I now call it, "The Land of No Cars and Infinite Excuses."

I made a reservation on September 10 for a standard-size SUV, scheduled to pick up on September 12 at 5pm. Easy enough, right? Wrong. I arrived promptly at 5pm, only to be told the location was closed. Great start! But hey, mistakes happen. So, I came back the next morning at 9:30am, optimism still (barely) intact. That’s when Mr. Mohamad Ansari, the same employee from yesterday, told me there was no reservation for me that day.

I kindly explained to him that my reservation was for the previous evening and that it was valid through September 16 at 5pm. But no, according to Mr. Ansari, I was out of luck because I didn’t pick up the car at exactly 5pm the day before. 🤦🏽‍♀️

After a few rounds of what felt like an argument with a poorly programmed robot, he finally admitted they didn’t even have the SUV I reserved. Classic! He then went on to blame me for not reserving a pick up at the airport. I asked if they had the car available the night before, but apparently, that was “irrelevant.” Oh, okay.

Naturally, I asked him to confirm all this on record, since the reservation was prepaid and non-refundable. That's when Mr. Ansari declared I was violating his “personal rights” and proceeded to throw me out of the location. I guess having a customer with basic expectations really pushes a guy over the edge. Mr. Ansari sure seemed to be having a bad day or few or perhaps a decade or two, lol.

After leaving the location, i made other reservations, at the airport, of course. I needed to contact the location again, to get them to approve my refund with Priceline. During these conversations, Mr. Ansari apologized for his conduct but anyways, the damage was done, trauma logged.

I would not recommend a pick up here even if you are 2 minutes away from this location, unless of course you call them first and confirm that they will actually have a vehicle available for you. Based on the other reviews for this location, the misconduct seems to be a rotating theme, and I know i wont be going back.

Car rentals do have a bad reputation but I could never understand the reason until I made the unfortunate decision to go into this location. This isn't my first time at Hertz but thanks to the person there, it very well might be the last. Infinitely slow, super unhelpful and incorrigibly selfish behavior.

This Hertz is one of the friendliest locations I've been to. Everytime I go in they always greet me with a huge smile.
Never had any troubles with the cars they rented me and trust me, I've rented alooooooot of cars from them here.
I would honestly give 6 stars if I could

Worst Hertz location for sure, didn't honor your reservation, don't waste your time to pick up cars from this location. Deserve a 0 star if there is that option.

Horrific owners, the owner (a older male) seems least interested in providing service, is super disrespectful and rude. Hertz is nice but having these kind of franchise owners is simply unacceptable.

Couldn't return my car I picked up from a different city... drove 20 minutes here and had to drive to Airport... I can't believe a company with $3 billion revenue doesn't let customers to pick up cars and drop off at any location. Hertz suppose to let customers know about this.

I am a loyal customer of Hertz and I have booked from many different places. This is definitely the worst. I reserved a mid size car a month ago. When I got there, they have only EVs and minivans available. They tried to give me an EV but I rejected because I have no time to charge it. Then they asked me to pay $70 more to get the minivan and I also rejected. I am a pc of Hertz but they do not give me the minivan because of their fault. Finally I got no car and have to cancel my reservation.
