This was literally the worst car rental experience I've ever had. I arrived earlier than anticipated and walked up to a dark rental office. I called the number posted on the little sign and was told that the person who could help me would be there in 15 minutes.
Over 30 minutes later, a man walked in without so much as a hello. I walked up to him and introduced myself, apologized for being early, etc. He ignored me for another 10 minutes or so as he fumbled around with the computer.
When he finally graced me with a greeting and eye contact, he was nothing but condescending, rude, and difficult. He gave me grief about being early, refused to let me use the credit card that has my husband's name on it (this was the only card I brought and used it successfully for every other aspect of my trip), then he was misinformed about how much deposit would be owed (I had to call my husband to have him move funds around so I could use our debit card).
Then, well after an hour of arriving, he has me walk down to where the car was rather than bringing it to me up the hill. There were several dents and scratches on the car, and while he was taking general pictures of the car with his phone, I took my own because I just do not trust this person at this point.
There were so many points in which this person could have turned this situation around and made it a better experience, but he clearly had no interest. Next time we travel, I'll pay a few more dollars and go to a different rental company. The $100 I saved was NOT WORTH this experience to me.
