I reserved a car but only after I arrived, I was informed that they didn't have a car for me. A big waste of time. Apparently this is a very common occurrence there. Do not bother booking here!

Terrible experience. No fleet available, despite allowing the reservation. Got in the place and there were no cars…not a surprise since all reviews say the same thing about this location. Unless it is very profitable (which I doubt) they should shut this store down…definitely it is negatively impacting hertz name.

Sophia's customer service is absolutely outstanding! When my favorite electric vehicle (EV) wasn’t available to rent, she generously offered me an upgrade to a 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I was a little hesitant to accept at first, but I ended up averaging a gobsmacking 51 miles per gallon (mpg) over nearly 1,500 miles, which made my trip to and from Crater Lake National Park so much more enjoyable. I couldn't have picked a better alternative — all thanks to Sophia.

This holiday season, I’m really grateful for the wonderful care and attention I’ve *always* received from this branch. I've rented here atleast fifty (50) times, and I've always had a top notch experience.

If I could give this place a negative star review, it would still be too generous....This is quite literally the worst Hertz location in Western America. The only remaining employees, clearly hates his job and people.

The last two times I visited this location, I had made a reservation and showed up at 9 am (their opening time). Both times, there was already a line, but no worker in sight. They had to call someone from San Jose, which took an additional four hours!!!! Meanwhile, ten people waited in line due to a no-show unprofessional employee. When I finally got my car, it was uncleaned.

When I returned the car a few days later, the same situation occurred. No employee was present, just a line of confused customers. Do they not wonder that people have their own timelines and things to do? When the attendant finally arrived, he had an attitude and clearly didn't care about his job.

The next time I tried booking with this location, the same employee refused to rent me a car despite having available vehicles. He was lounging with his feet up on the desk and phone in hand—extremely unprofessional. When I called him out for not wanting to rent out the cars, he arrogantly replied, "I don't have to prove anything to you." This worker needs to be fired. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well.

Honestly I was thinking of renting a car at other Hertz branch due to very negative reviews at this Stanford branch.
However, I was very touched by the kindness the worker showed me and I was able to get a car in no time.

Absolutely the worst experience. First of all, we made a reservation online and paid upfront, but there’s no available car for us. We came in the next day, still no car. Making things much worse, the guy (named Richard) put us on the bottom of a long waitlist, because he gave the car to someone else that he seems to be familiar with. He then tried to blame everything on us, being very rude and yelled at us for 10 minutes.
So we wasted two days, got yelled at, still no car, and branch “cannot do anything about it”.
Avoid this branch, particularly this guy Richard, if you have any other choice.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. We waited for two hours to pick up a car with about 10 other people. No one showed up. Tried calling various Hertz support lines only to end up in endless “press # if”. We eventually gave up and left. Even if someone had showed up, looking around the lot it didn’t even appear they had the car we reserved.
