I recently rented a car for a 10-day family trip to Alaska, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. We chose mid night car rental for our journey, and here's why I highly recommend them
Cleanliness: The car we received was impeccably clean, both inside and out, which was especially important for a long road trip.

Whenever I come home to visit I rent a car here with great service. The only reason I give fewer stars is because when I got here to rent the car, they told me about a 50-mile radius rule for wintertime. When I told her I didn't know about it and I'd have to cancel, she said, "we have it every year," as if I should have known. It is disappointing because I didn't see a notice on the website prior to calling to reserve, and the agent reserving over the phone did not inform me either. I'll continue to rent from here because I like to support local, but this definitely soured my experience. I'm required to use my full coverage insurance for the vehicle, so restricting mileage to anchorage for locals is weird to me.

This company could not come more highly recommended. Our car took us all around the Anchorage area during our 2 week trip. It was clean and well maintained. We even got a ride after dropping off the car to our breakfast spot in downtown when we told them we were ordering an Uber! Great rates and above and beyond service!

HIGHLY recommend!! Fabulous customer service from calling to ask questions (they answered the phone immediately!), to booking the reservation, to picking up/dropping off the car - I didn't have a bad experience in any area. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. It was a MUCH better experience than booking with the typical car rental places (Avis, Budget, etc) and alot less expensive. Something they did, which I've not seen before, was to video any dings on the vehicle before I drove off. They then emailed me the video. That way, I had proof of any minor damage already on the car before I returned it. I thought it was a great idea and something all car rental places should do. Don't let the fact that they are not located exactly at the airport keep you from booking. They're only about a mile away and will shuttle you back to the airport. I will definitely use Midnight Sun the next time I'm in Alaska - thanks for a great experience!!

Excellent experience with midnight sun. Not only did they have a car available when none of the "big boys" did but their service was outstanding, friendly and helpful with no gimmicks, hidden charges or nonsense which are unfortunately so common in car rental. For example, when I came to return the car and they found out I still had several hours before my flight, they needed that car back but gave me a smaller car for a few hours for free, and then gave me a ride to the airport afterwards! If you need a car in anchorage, I would recommend you ask them first!

Such a great, easy, and reasonably priced rental! We had 2 days in Anchorage and last minute decided we needed a car. The Midnight Sun team picked up the phone on the first ring, quoted us a super good price, and got us in a car as soon as we stopped by about an hour later. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful, and we were even able to extend our rental to help get us closer to our flight in the evening. Quickest and best rental experience ever!
