I've bought bikes from Mike's and they have a great selection including parts and accessories. Review is now for service which was 5*. Had a full service after four years on my Santa Cruz 5010C including shocks, brakes, derailleurs and tuning. Max checked it my bike, asked me questions, showed me everything that needed to be done and then two days later... Done! Great service and really appreciate the effort from the staff. Will recommend and be back.

As a loyal, repeat customer who has purchased two bikes from this store, I am absolutely outraged and disappointed, enough to give only one star for the appalling service I received.

I came in with my kids to shop for a new bike for my younger one. When I explained to the salesman, Tom, that I was looking to upgrade from our current bike but couldn’t get the same one because Cleary went out of business earlier this year, he responded with a condescending, “That’s what happens when you buy cheap.”

Excuse me? You just insulted a customer who bought the exact bike from your own store.

The ignorance of not recognizing the brand, the complete lack of professionalism in refusing to understand my needs, and the arrogance of immediately insulting a loyal customer are beyond unacceptable.

In addition, Tom did not respect how I communicate with my kids. Well, given that there is no explanation or recommendation of the bikes we are looking at, we decide to factor in my kid’s preference. While I was trying to have a conversation with my kid about which bike he’d like to have, Tom came upon and urged us for a decision. We told him we need time to discuss with the kid, his response was:” so who’s paying? Is the kid going to pay?”

I cannot believe I spent my hard-earned money on two bikes here. I feel utterly disrespected and regret ever giving this store my business. Rest assured, I will never return and will share this experience widely.

I have always had a great experience and appreciate the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff at Mike's Bikes PA.

Sharing my most recent experience; I walked in less than half hour before closing, expecting to drop off my wheel and leave it for a few days for a spoke replacement. Max offered an alternate spoke option that was available in-store (exact replacement spoke would have to be ordered and take a week) and he offered to fix it immediately and stayed a few minutes past closing time to finish it. I really appreciate the extra effort and offering me the option. It would have been reasonable to me to leave it for a few days, so he definitely went above and beyond!

I have nothing but good things to say. Mikes Bikes of PA has outstanding customer service and mechanics. Max has been my go-to mechanic for a while now and he is absolutely excellent. He always goes out of his way to help me and get things right. Can’t recommend this place enough.

For the first time in my 40+ years of life, I got "kicked" out of a store. So this story will be remembered and shared with my neighbors and friends in Palo Alto for a long time.

Be warned, do not come here if all you want is a bike for your young child. (Personally, I won't come here for any bikes.)

I really wanted a bike I ordered for my kid, so l made an effort to come in by leaving work early. Instead, I waited 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me after I got there. I told the manager that this is very frustrating especially when I made an effort to leave work early just to come in. The manager (his last name is Nguyen) simply told me: "that's your problem". So basically he told me that they don't want my business. I took the hint and left.

Judging from my experience and some relatively recent reviews at Yelp (17 out of the 20 most recent Yelp reviews were NEGATIVE ones), you really don't want to come here for kid's bikes or any lower end bikes. They often have ONLY one person working (this same person also answers the phone), so they won't spend too much time with you if you aren't spending a lots of money there. Just like another reviewer mentioned they would "push" you out. I was literally "pushed" out. So Mike's Bike is some special shop.

I was at Mike's this past weekend to troubleshoot a clicking sound on my daughter's bike, as well as have adjustments made on my road bike and mountain bike. Max helped us and went above and beyond- truing her wheel and adjusting brakes for my daughter's bike and checking carbon spokes on my wheel - veryefficient and thorough.

I highly recommend Mike's! Thank you Max.

Thank you Aaron G! Above and beyond. I stopped in for a quick basket purchase but since the service was booked up they agreed to let me install it myself in store. After many fixes and help with brackets, screws, and wrenches, I was able to get my basket affixed. He didn't have to help me for about an hour, but he did. Wow.
