It can be tough picking a marina online! Reviews of OHM were similar to the other marinas with one exception- their responses. They have their share of disappointed customers, but they were the only marina that responded in a respectable manner, so that’s who I chose, and it was one of my better decisions! The reservation system was comprehensive and easy to use leaving me feeling very confident I was headed for a good experience. After 10hrs and a thousand miles to get there, my hunch was confirmed when I met Heath at the rental desk. Having boating experience I knew what I was looking for and he nailed every item I could think of before I could even ask. The Tahoe210 Red was in impeccable shape and performed admirably for every minute of the three hours we had it. The tube and life vest selection was beyond expectations. The location was easy to locate and navigate. If you’re seriously looking to rent a boat in Okoboji, OHM will treat you right. Thanks, Heath!

Overall, this was a fine experience. Definitely a fun way to spend some time on the water near Okoboji. Some recommendations about using this company:
1. If you have questions, call them directly. They are not very accessible via online forms/chats. They answered all my questions, but I had to call (a few times) before our trip.
2. Be really clear with instructions. We wanted a female captain and were told that was possible, then it was reversed the day off. Not a huge issue, but a bummer since we would have been more comfortable with that situation & were told it was possible beforehand.
3. If you book a Captain, tell them exactly what you want. We thought we were clear instructions, but they weren’t followed so we missed out on some of the party vibe we wanted at the sandbar/beach bars.
4. Only book a Maui Mat if you think you will actually use it at the sandbar. If you are going to the beach bar/drive around, you won’t need it.
5. I’d recommend purchasing insurance since our captain was a bit inexperienced and it made our group more comfortable.

I’d give them another try since it was a fun way to spend an afternoon on the water!

We recently rented a brand new boat from them and it was awesome! Heath was a customer service pro giving us instructions on how the boat operated to tips on navigating the lakes. The boat was clean and in perfect working order and such a pleasure to drive. We have used another marina in the area to rent from but no more. Oak Hill has definitely won our loyalty. Thanks for a great time on the lake!

The past 2 summers we have rented from Oak Hill, and it has been a wonderful experience! The boats are always nice, the staff is friendly and helpful, and we always have a fun time! Definitely recommend and will continue to use Oak Hill!

We rented a pontoon from Oak Hill Marina today and had the best time. If you are looking to rent a pontoon, you really need to go to Oak Hill Marina. The service there was exceptional. Like no other boat rental place on Lake Okoboji

Rented a pontoon, great experience. Received a call about 45 minutes prior to our pick up time saying the boat was no longer available due to a mechanical issue. Heath hooked it up for us with a speed boat (was a couple hundred dollar upgrade) and a lily pad. Highly rec! They were kind and very helpful with boat and lake knowledge.
