Where do I start. Took my boat out the water nov in 2022 because it wouldn’t go in reverse. Chad said he would come get it but didn’t for weeks and it rained. When he did finally get it he replaced the trims but it still wouldn’t go in reverse and he refused to work on it any further. 2023 -$1800 later boat still broke. Ripoff! Wouldn’t take my boat to Chad if he was the last boat mechanic on earth!

Had to replace an hydraulic line. Waited almost 3 months for an appointment. Told them that the "manual" showed that the repairs required the sterndrive to be removed. The mechanic pulled the engine instead. Adding more costs. After replacing the hose, they didn't even refill the hydraulic fluid. Then a couple of wires were switched. One wire was deliberately (?) hidden behind the alternator. On top of all of that, they charged me twice the quoted estimate. When I complained; "...do you want your boat back?"
I wouldn't go back to this place again if you paid me. Do not bring your boat here!

This place has been stringing us along for over 8 months on a part that we need for our boat. We were told that the part was ordered and has been on back ordered. We recently found out that the owner has been lying to us and didn't want to work on our boat. We have not been able to use our boat because of this part.
I have been told that the business is shutting down. I wonder if it is because of other bad business practices.

After taking my boat to another shop who didn't finish work requested charged me more than quote for work they did do. Worst, boat wasn't sea worthy, I took my boat to Oakley Stern Drive. Excellent work, kept me informed, now my Reinell is ready for another season with no worries with all original Volvo Penta parts! More work, better parts and less money!
Feel safe and reliable now.

Ruined my boat! I had an 18' Searay bowrider, and brought it to him to increase the performance. He, Chad the owner, replaced the aluminum V6 engine/outdrive package with a MUCH heavier cast iron V8 package to the tune of $8000! Way too much weight for that boat! Horrible performance! He should have known that boat couldn't handle the weight! Searay never offered a V8 option, and for good reason! Having it all replaced again by someone far more knowledgeable! Wish I could sue him!

Brought my boat in to Bridge Head with my Volvo Penta engine overheating. Asked them to figure out what was wrong and fix the overheating problem, they did not bother even testing the engine and Oakley Sterndrive & Engine Repair recommended rebuilding the out drive to supposedly fix the problem. $15,000 later (there was other work done to the boat by Bridgehead who did a great job with the aesthetic stuff) the boat goes back into the water and is still overheating. I make it up river almost to Sacramento and the whole engine gives out making a turn. Mind you this was not even 10 hours after leaving the mechanic, I have the boat pulled out of the water again and another mechanic (for which I have another boat owner horror story, tells me the whole engine needs to be replaced.) Had Oakley Sterndrive & Engine repair done what was requested and found out what was wrong with the engine, I am guessing the engine would have needed a rebuild and I would still have a top notch Volvo Penta boat engine. Instead I now have a Chevy engine in my boat and am quite disappointed. This company is negligent and responsible for the engine damage that was done including the fact the engine completely died less than 10 hours after leaving dock.
