Robin is an unbelievable breath of fresh air. My elderly father and I were in the middle of a road from from Riverside CA to Seattle WA in a 1955 Ford Thunderbird and we experienced major brake trouble in the area, necessitating a tow. There's more to the story but we had the car towed to a shop around the corner on a Sunday. Monday morning the other shop wouldn't give me the time of day or help in any way whatsoever. They didn't have a nice word to say about Robin's shop around the corner, even though Robin not only took my call first thing but called me back several times to get me in same day. When I arrived he immediately brought a tech out and solved the problem in less than 15 mins, even showing me how to make the adjustment myself between the master cylinder and booster. He then proceeded to NOT CHARGE ME. I insisted on paying him something but bottom line is this guy is honest, helpful and went out of his way to bail us out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED; will tell everyone I know. Kudos to great service and how-how!

We were referred to Robin from our family and we are so happy that they did. Him and his team were honest with us, didn't push us at all, and got our car fixed up in a pretty speedy timeframe. We didn't know exactly what was wrong with our car and he took the time to figure it out and charged us a more than fair rate. Luckily it wasn't anything major! When we went to pick up the car we overheard him giving another customer an amazing deal because he was able to fix his problem so quickly. The guy was shocked and so were we! I mean come on, what auto mechanic would be nice enough (and honest enough) do that? Highly recommend!!

For the last two years this shop has continually reported the wrong mileage on my services.
I suspect they re-installed old callipers and blow my torque converter causing me to buy a whole new transmission. They took zero accountability and refused to make insurance claims or give me access to a claims adjuster.
Find a different shop fast they report dates incorrectly on receipts and dont have insurance

Robin’s Auto Service (RAS) is exceptional! And – that is a word I rarely use when posting reviews.
Here’s what you experience from RAS: 1) a highly skilled mechanic working on your car, 2) an absolutely honest man – Robin, the owner – who charges you a fair price, 3) an auto shop who explains what needs to be done and why, 4) Marge, the Admin. Asst., who calls you promptly when your car is finished, and 5) an auto shop who you can absolutely trust!

Here is a summary of two service experiences over a two week period:
I have lived in Larkspur since 2010, and began using RAS two weeks ago bc my auto repair shop closed. I met with Robin and he reviewed the specific items that would be part of my 15,000 mile checkup, the cost, and that I could bring in my car and wait. But – one day before I was scheduled to bring it in, I noticed a major dashboard switch was broken, so I drive to RAR at approx.. 3:00 P.m. and Robin stopped what he was doing and called to see if the switch could arrive the following morning. This was confirmed while I waited about 5 minutes, and it was installed along with the 15000 check up the next day. I waited for my car in the very comfortable waiting room. Bc my 98 4 Runner has 167,000 , the mechanic pointed out that there was an oil leak coming from the engine block and I was advised to schedule an appt. for this. A week later, I dropped off my car and that too was repaired

A huge thank you to Robin’s auto service who was happy to do a quick check on our Dodge ram when we were having some issues with the engine light. They were kind enough to let us drop in unexpected and run a quick diagnostic check. Totally free of charge just to be local helpful resources People like this are why I appreciate working with local shops!

f I could give 10 stars I would. If you are looking for a honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and affordable mechanic then don’t look any further. Robins auto service is the place for you. I came in with a list of different concerns regarding my vehicle, and Robin was very attentive to each one. He was honest about some of my concerns not being anything to worry about, when other mechanics would probably try to take advantage and tell me I need to purchase services that I don’t really need. The one concern that was legitimate (a knocking sound coming from under the back of my car when I hit bumps) was quickly diagnosed, he showed me the broken sway bar link under the car that was knocking, and he ordered the part and his team fixed it the same day. The estimate and final price was also much lower than I had expected and he even topped off all my fluids for free upon completion of the job. He has a comfy set of couches that you can sit on while waiting for the repair to be done too. He also told me that he noticed another repair I may need in the future, showed me the cause of it, and gave me another affordable estimate for that. All in all, I’m very satisfied with my experience at this shop and I’m looking forward to continue utilizing their services for all my auto repair needs. Thanks guys!

We were driving from SF with a spare because we had a nail in the tire. Stopped by a few tire shops and gas stations trying to find anyone that could help us patch the regular tire since we’re driving pretty far. These guys helped us right away and fixed our tire in 15 min flat — at a great price! Thanks for saving our butts!

A mechanic you can trust!Reasonable prices. Extremely knowledgeable. He’s helped me and my son out soo many times with multiple vehicles we’ve had over the years. He has saved us from further costly problems down the road. I always go to him when I’m back in the area and in need of repairs! Definitely a benefit going to him.
