We had a great time on our family rafting adventure! The guides were amazing people. They gave informative information about the area that we found very interesting as well as lots of quiet moments to just enjoy the tranquility of the area.

We brought our 10 year old and nearly 13 year old girls. They had a great time too. Anytime we were near rocks my husband and I both noticed our guide would put his oar up on whichever side had rocks to ensure their safety and that we wouldn’t drift too close where we’d have to worry about them bumping into a rock.

We chose a level 2 & 3 section since it was their first time. They had a lot of fun and want to come back and try a 3 & 4 next time!

We did the lower kern overnight trip for a bachelor party. (14 guys). Had an absolute blast rafting, sleeping under the starts, etc… (Ian, Aaron and Izzy were our guides and they were great) would highly recommend!

Nick and Jolie were awesome guides. Just pure fun. Don’t recall any glitches. The photos are pricey. We did the half day 11-3pm lower Kern. The river is very scenic.

This was my first rafting experience. I was a bit worried first, I am not a big fan of water sports, but this blew my mind. It was a fantastic 2.5 hours spent on a river. I felt safe all the time, our guide Will was really straightforward what we had to do to have a great time and stay in the boat. I would do this again in a heart beat. As a matter of fact, we will book another adventure within a few weeks again. Unfortunately the photographer did not catch us on his lens very well. That could certainly be approved.

We've been on two rafting trips with Sierra South in the last two years and have absolutely loved our experience! Great guides - knowledgable, friendly. Lots of fun! This year, our trip had to be cancelled due to fires, but Sierra was good about keeping us up to date and letting us know our options. We ended up missing out on the rafting - lower Kern was off limits, but had a super fun time tubing on the Upper Kern. Again, staff was super friendly, great with getting us set up and armed with the information we needed for a fun time. Definitely, recommend Sierra South if you're looking for adventure on the Kern.

This was our first time rafting with our Scout Troop. The process from start to finish was easy and communication great. The staff knew exactly what they were doing and the process was streamlined. The guides were amazing, fun and professional. We will be back!

AWESOME TIME WITH GREAT PEOPLE! My friends and I booked a full day rafting experience which also came with lunch and lots of water. We got paired with the awesome Pasadena Mike 🤘and he showed us the best time! There is a swimming test and pulling up your buddy test to make sure you can adequately save yourself or friend in case you actually do fall off the raft. Not only was the Kern River beautiful but it has record breaking levels of water right now which makes it the perfect condition to go have an adventure. Mike shared lots of tips with us, great stories, and was just an awesome time. I feel like our raft was the party raft!

I really feel like they did a great job easing us into a level 4. We didn't just hit these rapids right away. We got use to the raft and how to paddle with our team on a calmer part of the river, did the swim test in calm water as well. Then we got taken to something a little more intense and then a little more after that. I really felt comfortable and confident navigating the raft!

Thanks to the crew (especially PASADENA MIKEEE) for making this such an unforgettable experience! The guides are so helpful and make sure you have the most fun while maintaining safety. Ask them about their travels, what restaurants they recommend, and anything else having to do with Kernville- they're so friendly and more than happy to help!

Make sure to stop by their shop on your way out. They have some great gear and awesome shirts and hats to bring home and show your friends what a fun time you had!

Some Tips:
-Bring a baseball cap! You can wear it under your helmet and it really helps keep the splashes of water out of your eyes!
-Water shoes! Have some, you can't be barefoot.
-Lots of drinking water and sunscreen (the instructors did a great job making sure everyone was staying safe and hydrated) it's hot in Kernville during this time guys!
