BUYER BEWARE!!! We bought a truck here about 2 weeks ago. While we really enjoyed our salesman, within a week, it was in the shop with expensive repairs. The truck was clearly compromised when we purchased it. When I called, and later visited in person, I got literally no support from the general manager Mark. Aside from his flippant and accusatory attitude towards me when we asked for help, he blamed us and was smug and rude at every interaction. He was completely unwilling to take accountability or help us in any way with the repairs. This is actually the second vehicle I’ve purchased from them in a short period of time and would’ve expected at least some sort of respectful accommodation but instead was met with the most unprofessional response. This man was happy to take my money, and completely unwilling to help when his product failed. If you choose to buy from these people, have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic you trust, or better yet, go somewhere where they treat their customers with kindness, integrity and respect. Integrity is the missing ingredient here.

The sales manager was rude and a total phony and the salesman was an absolute nightmare. I had a cashier's check ready to buy a used car and when I went to pick up the car I could not have been more disappointed with how the salesman interacted with me and the car I was buying. He was doing things to the car that I'd never do.
Because of this I ended up not buying the car. I'd give zero stars if it were possible. I still want the car, but not from those people. not the way they treated me and the car I came to buy but didn't. That dealership needs all new sales people and management.

Great experience! They sell based on the fixed price model which is really a time saver and stress reducer format. The price was more than fair and the used car was impeccable with waxed delivery, everything working and just plain an all above board transaction. I would highly recommend it and I am going back to have some work done on my other car

We bought a used Porsche from Smith Volvo, traveling from out of state to basically buy a used car sight unseen. While our salesman was helpful and knowledgeable, it was really Smith Volvo's partnership with SGS Independent Porsche Care and Nathan's expertise that closed the deal. Nathan had serviced the car for years and was able to provide history and copies of maintenance records that gave me full confidence in the car. When we did run into an issue after driving it home 700 miles, Smith Volvo worked with us to resolve it, even though it was a used car with no formal warrantee. Completely professional and up front organization... highly recommend them for used and new cars!

I worked with Brendan and Rob to purchase a vehicle from a BAT auction they hosted.

SVC was responsive, descript, and honest about the vehicle prior to purchase sight unseen. Everyone there was pleasant and delightfully accommodating. The customer service and value have been an unmatched experience for me.

They offered to help ship the vehicle to me at the cost of their time for my convenience. Rob saved me $800 in shipping and I can't be more thankful.

I had a wonderful car buying experience which I believe you could also enjoy if you were to purchase one of their automobiles. I highly recommend them.

It’s taking me a long time to write this review.

However, during the summer my air-conditioning went out on my XC 90. My local dealer here in Fresno always seems to cater to Range Rover and Jaguar owners. Volvo customers are not treated with the same respect.

I reached out to Smith Volvo and worked with David. He was very sympathetic from the start.

I was able to have my car towed to San Luis Obispo, and his team found a leak. What’s phenomenal about this place is David did not want me to drive the 2 hours without ensuring that the issue was 100% resolved - especially having a toddler.

He asked to keep the car for further observation. Not only did they find the initial leak, they discovered freon was coming out of the car which was a MAJOR fix.

I did not have to drive there, he made everything convenient for me.

I plan to come here for any service as San Luis Obispo is beautiful anyway. But David is awesome! He has absolutely wonderful customer service skills… and truly cares about the Volvo customer.

This is my expectation for owning a luxury vehicle as opposed to the nightmare I experienced with my local dealer.

I can’t wait to meet him in person!

Came in for a check engine light on SUV, unfortunately it was more of an issue than I was hoping for.

However, Smith Volvo does great work, and has a curtious, friendly staff who clearly communicated what the challenge was and quickly share time and price for the repair.

All went well..

This is the only dealership in SLO and SB counties. It's a beautiful drive and hanging out in SLO is easy and fun while repairs are being made. Their communication is tops, with text message updates along the way. The service department and staff are excellent and always friendly. Most recently I had an extended warranty update and they had my car for 3 days. Smith Volvo has a relationship with nearby Hertz, where I booked a rental. After dropping my car off at Smith, Dave, in the Smith service department, arranged for an Uber (which Smith paid for) to drive me to Hertz. Later, a Hertz staffer shuttled me back to Smith. The process was as smooth as could be. I feel my car is well taken care of by the professionals at Smith Volvo who deliver service with courtesy, kindness, and a sparkling clean car, too!
