Rented an RV from this place through Cruise America. Had issues with the RV including a foul sulfur/fecal smell from the water every time it was turned on. The woman at Smith’s had zero customer service sense, was rude, and did not seem to care. All she did was give me an email to contact Cruise America through. The additionally failed to explain upon rental that the insurance was $20 per day rather than total. Overall, rental was poor and customer service was useless and rude. Would not recommend.

Rented a car with the intention of driving to LA. They rented me a car that had a donut tire instead of a regular one. Then as I was crossing the Richmond Bridge the tire pressure light came on. I called them on they promised me I was good to travel to LA. Suffice it to say I of course did not attempt the trip. But I did keep the rental for the 2 days I paid for. Given all that they still had the audacity to charge me full price plus an extra day because EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD I COULD COME BACK AT 4:30, the rep there (who also didn't know what a spare tire was) said I was supposed to come back at 11:30am.

We rented an RV from Smith's Rent a Car and it was poorly serviced and had major issues.

The water tank had a big hole in it (and did not hold water) and we were not able to use our toilet, shower or sink during our whole trip. We didn't find out about this until we got it home and started filing it up with water for our trip. This is something the rental place should check before they rent a vehicle.

They said it was not their issue (what). No compensation or help from them. Never using them again!

Read all their reviews - they don't care about their customers or vehicles!!!

I don’t like giving other businesss bad reviews but I feel it’s my responsibility to society as I’m a small business owner myself. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME CHOOSE ANYWHERE ELSE!!! From there horrible rude customer service starting with the angry girl at the front desk to there smelly beat up cars that are scary and do not feel safe. I’m reporting them to the better business bureau to be audited because of the dangerous condition of there cars. Yuckkk unrealized that they accept cash deposits so they maybe know that they are the only option for some people and therefore don’t care about anything at all except taking your money unfortunately I had to go here because enterprise and hertz had nothing available. I can’t believe this disgusting 3rd world style business is operating in our otherwise beautiful Sonoma County. Hopefully not much longer after the BBB Deams them a danger to society. Good luck guys and hope this helped!!! Ps read all the other reviews and on yelp too. They share my sentiments or worse unfortunately. Very scary and dispicable business and to management. You can’t start cleaning up your business even by just replacing the nasty girl who worked the morning of Tuesday July 23rd 2024. Something tells me she is the manager or the managers sister or family or abusive wife because how else could such a contagious and cancerous employee be allowed to work at a business without some time of nepotism or leverage. 🤢🤮allll around

This place is great .friendly people good selection of vehicles . You dont need a credit card for deposit 200 dollar cash deposit is all that is needed. If u dont like the vehicle ur in u can bring back and they will gind one u like .
I would and do recommend smiths auto rental to anyone who needs a car or truck .

I’ve been using Smith’s Rent-a-Car on Santa Rosa Blvd since 2017 and they are a really solid, local rental company. Every time I have been in a pinch and needed a car or UHaul vehicle, they were able to help me out. And they were super-patient with me when I had dumb questions about where the gas tank was and trouble locking the U-Haul cargo van I rented (spoiler alert: it was me and not the van that was having trouble). I highly recommend them as a good, reliable local vehicle rental business.

I rented a Mitsubishi Mirage for 6 days with the 7th day free, then I extended the rental for another 3 days easily by paying in cash for the next 3 days. You can also extend rentals with a debit card by phone. I was able to drive up to 300 miles per day. I had no problems with the car, and it only cost me $30 to fill the tank!!

While being stored here they it our 5th wheel with a Uhaul truck and denied responsibility. If you value your RV don’t trust it here.
