Staff is excellent, store needs a face lift to be more competitive with all the new stores around it, and a make over inside, still looks like 1980 inside. But does have decent inventory..

We bought an alternator and it didn't work. When we called to see if they had another at Bethel we spoke to a Shaun who couldn't look up the part without the part number so my 83 year old husband had to walk back out to the car to obtain this information, about 100 feet with his cane. Shaun was snotty about it all. I called them back and it was very slow going with Shaun to get the information I needed and I had to give him the part number at least 3 times and had to spell our name multiple times and phone number. When we took the part back another sales person made it seem to my husband that they thought we had done something to the alternater when we put it in which was not the case. The alternator we had taken back had a slip of paper with it showing it had been tested while the new one did not. I believe someone had sent the first one back before and then they resold it to us. The person who took my husband to Smyth stated that he stopped buying anything from Smyth because they were not helpful at all and I agree.

Good place. Really knowledgeable staff. It’s nice dealing with people that actually know things. When I go to other parts stores, they automatically refer straight to their computer. The guys here really seem to have a lot of experience.
