This is my first- and last-time shopping at Sportsman's Warehouse. The counter sales need to do a better job with customer service. There needs to be an ammo guy (Tom) and gun guys. When you get there don't expect a "hello how can I help you" or any type of acknowledgement. Make sure you find the QR form on the counter and scan it to get service. There is no line they go by the QR. And they don't inform you of it. So, look for it. Tom and the manager stated that in order to buy a gun you need to show your "most recent form of identification". Even after I showed them my Real I.D. Tom demanded to see my Driver's License, and my birth certificate in order to complete the sale. They didn't think I was a United States Citizen. According to the manager it's a new law by the D.O.J. that you have to show you "most recent form of identification". I have shopped in Santa Rosa for 10 years at FERGUSON ARMS, Rinkor's, multiple online shops and never had this problem with my Real ID. In my opinion Tom is rude, incompetent, and prejudice. He should not be working sales. This is the last time I will shop at Sportsman's warehouse. Steve and Joe were the exception. They are very professional gentleman. They are the only reason this review gets 2-star. The other guys need some training with their customer service skills.

Incredibly poor service on multiple occasions. Gun counter service is reliably terrible. Just spent 2 hours in the digital waitlist, watching an employee hold a customer hostage with an hour's worth of fishing stories that the customer clearly didn't want to hear. Dozens of customers waiting, and appointments don't matter. Do yourself a favor and find another gun shop. I ended up asking for a refund and cancelling the transaction just to never have to deal with them again.

5 stars for just for Zach, I was going to give this place a one star and never come back but Zach was absolutely phenomenal, attentive at the gun counter and gave fast service as well as being friendly.

Before I had been denied by someone when i showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and was penalized instead for showing up early and had to wait another half hour after the scheduled appointment. First time I came I spent over an hour with no else in line and it seems to be pretty understaffed most times. Tony I think was a great guy too. Glad the QR code was introduced for a little more help. Might as well add a waiting room or seats, the line has nothing to do other than look at dog toys

I would give no stars if possible. They emailed to tell me my order is ready to be picked up. I go in, the wait time at the firearms counter is expected to be between 150 - 170 minutes! I guess they do it by minutes so people don't realize how INSANE that wait time is by hours.

Driving there and back without my purchase took an hour and half of my life.

I will NEVER buy anything from Sprotsman's again.

Terrible service at gun/ammo counter. The store is empty except a line of 10 people waiting for gun/ammo service. 5 employees walking around the store aimlessly stocking shelves? Please put your employees where they are needed. 1.5 hours to get some shotgun shells. This store sucks but I have no other options. Do not come here! 1 star because zero isn’t an option!

Awful horrible ssloooowwwwwwwwwwwww customer service in ammo and gun department! Always massively time-wasting slooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww just waiting and waiting and waiting in line just to finally maybe be allowed to simply buy ammo and or firearms! Literally an hour or more is often wait time even when there are just a few people already waiting when arriving. Often there are more people waiting, of those who haven't already eventually left without being helped and able to buy anything because the company chooses to not give a care at all about customers so only hires extreme bare minimum staff and those staff are often taking breaks and so slooowwwwwww when they do finally help a customer.

Just awful. Better to go to other stores where company, management and employees actually care about customers valuable time

Great gun and ammo selection for California standards. If you want to wait in line for an hour and also be the only one in line, then this is the place to go. No guarantees of getting a couple boxes of ammo, as the appointments pass you by. There has got to be a walk up/same day person for this kind of stuff. I also read a comment about chatty staff, and I have seen two different cases in my last 5 trips to this store. Where the guy at the shotgun area is talking about anything but guns, while leaning on the counter, making no effort to move along the conversation and get to the next person. I will not be returning to this location, keep your business local and support the little guy. This is not worth it.
