Pricey @180/hr shop rate. But they do the job right. The most important thing about getting out on the water is getting back. Sterling can keep your older boat running when other shops refuse to even look at it.

These guys at Sterling are AMAZING! I have a new to me used boat, that had the batteries wired in a unsafe manner. I called to make an appointment, and like most places they are booked!

However, they took the time on TWO occasions, to walk me through what I needed to do to make it safe, and what batteries I needed to buy.

I have since made the soonest appointment, about two weeks out to have my boat serviced and checked over. This is not the closest shop to me, but they will be my only recommendation, based on the level of care these gentlemen have!

Jacob and company are very professional. Will not rip you off at all. Feel bad for the negative review they got because I don’t see that from them at all. All positives here every time I go see them with a problem with my boat. They figure out exactly the problem and only charge you for that. Exceptional customer service and exceptional quality of work. Very happy to have them service my boat. Thankyou sterling marine.

I have no idea what these guys in the other review are talking about! I have been taking my boat to Sterling Marine for the last 15 years and have not had one issue! They are one of the only shops in the Sacramento area that are fair priced, nice, and preform honest work. Highly recommend!!!

If you have an older model moter like mine, 79 85hp merc and looking for service Sterling Marine should be your first call! Jabob fixed my issues fast and had me back out on the water in no time. I couldn't believe the final price either. Well done boys thank you guys so much

Hands down terrible shop. These guys are clueless when it comes to outboards and saltwater boats. They damaged a new outboard and attempted to put the blame on the shipper but didn’t call to tell me about the damage. They mounted it anyway hmmmm. They say they are certified Yamaha mechanics but I got my boat back with a new $1300 Yamaha gauge that doesn’t work! They used improper rigging tube and salt water leaks into my engine. On a $25,000 Yamaha 300! These guys are clowns. If you actually care about your boat take it somewhere else. My boat is now at bucks outboards having all of the garbage work redone by bucks. If you just have a lake boat and don’t know anything about boats this place is prob fine. But if you have 30 years of saltwater fishing experience and boating and you know how important safety is on the ocean. Don’t go here.
