I have a 1983 Mercury 6 Hp that was in storage for over 10 years. I took it to Strickland because of good word-of-mouth reputation. When I first came to pick up my motor, Mr. Strickland wanted to test it out in my presence to make absolutely certain that it idled well. So, we hung it in his test tank and ran it. He was not satisfied with the performance, and wanted to keep it a while longer to make it right.

As we were pulling it out of the tank, a fin broke off the shaft housing when it banged against the tank edge. Strickland's made it right. He not only got the motor running better than I can remember, but he had a welder make the fin better than new free of charge.

I highly recommend this business for outboard motor repair.

He found the problem with my motor was not the motor, but the way it was mounted. No one else found that. Experience helps when you have a unique problem. Great work, and reasonable. Nice people.
