Great service, like to rent from them. Personalized. I’ve gotten four different cars from them on a couple different trips. Have always been vans. Took to Mexico. Prices se fair though I never know for sure. Always had something wrong with our cars, missing knobs, dangling mirror, etc. but we will still go with them in the future. Would give them five stars If their cars are all in good shape, I don’t blame them for sending them to Mexico.

When you rent through Sun Diego you are supporting a family-run business. It may not be quite run like a professional chain of car rentals, but you will receive personalized care and a much more reasonable price. We rented two 15-passenger vans for Mexico (flew into San Diego airport) for a week and all went well! At first, I was hesitant because the price was almost half of what was quoted by EZ rent-a-van and it was hard to believe. I phoned Ryan and Carlos several times to get confirmation and ask questions. Though they are closed on weekends (family time), they get the vans ready ahead of time for rental and are available by phone.

The drive was 10 minutes and the vans were ready to go on a Sunday. I paid Friday by phone/credit card on Friday, signed electronically and received the rental agreement. Ryan made sure that everything was good for us. Even, when last minute someone returned one of the vans we were going to use, damaged -- he got a replacement ready quickly.

The vans themselves were fine - actually a relief that they weren't new - so we felt comfortable travelling in them. One did have a light come on that lasted, but it wasn't serious. We fit 15 persons and put luggage in a truck. Otherwise, it's ideal to have 11 passengers and then room for luggage in the last bench. We drove 3 hours from the border into the hills past Ensenada and that was fine with the Company. After our trip, we dropped the vans off on a Sunday and put the keys in the box. That was it! We will definitely be using Sun Diego Car Rental again and are grateful that the two vans fit right into our non-profit budget!

I had such a great experience working with Ryan and his team. I recently rented a van from them for a recent trip down to Mexico with my fiancé to look at our wedding venue. The car was in great condition, and Ryan and his team were well communicative and extremely helpful. We are definitely going to recommend for our guests from out of town who will be attending our wedding.

Rented a minivan to spend a week in Baja Mexico. Had a wonderful experience. Clean and ready to go when we arrived. Easy to make the reservation and when I called the day before arrival Ryan explained everything clearly. Always nice to talk to a live person. He also called to follow up after our trip and to assure us the van was returned in good condition. Would definitely use again

I have used Sun Diego Car Rental twice this year and I will continue to use them for future trips into Mexico.
Ryan and his staff have been great to work with, and very understanding as circumstances change, such as when border crossings take longer than expected!
Sometime little details also make a big difference like when they kept my jacket for me when I left it in the car so I could pick it up weeks later when I came back through town.
A absolutely recommend using Sun Diego Car Rentals for all your vehicle rental needs going into Mexico.

Very easy and great experience with Sun Diego. We needed a car to drive into Mexico, and found this to be the best car rental in the area that offered that service. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely rent again on our next trip!
